REAL Software Announces Rapid Release Plans for REALbasic 2005

Austin, TX (PRWEB) May 25, 2005 -- REAL Software has announced that
REALbasic 2005 will ship next month and will be updated every 90 days via
the company's Rapid Release Model. This model is detailed in a new white
paper, "The Rapid Release Model for Software Development ", available at
http://www.realsoftware.com/rapidrelease from REAL Software.

"Although this model has been used by companies that sell software as a
service, like salesforce.com, this is new ground for companies that sell
packaged software, like REALbasic," stated Geoff Perlman, president and CEO
of REAL Software. "Our customers often need to incorporate the latest
technologies, whether Windows, Macintosh or Linux, into their projects.
This Rapid Release Model is a way for us to address their needs more
quickly."

"As a REALbasic user," stated Jason Essington, a developer at Green River
Computing, "we look to REAL Software to provide us with the capability to
implement new technologies as they become available. This Rapid Release
Model can really help us produce better software and bring new technologies
to our customers faster."

In the past, REAL Software introduced major releases in 6-month to 18-
month increments, depending on the features implemented. In addition, the
company released minor maintenance updates that were distributed for free
to holders of current software licenses. In the new Rapid Release Model,
REAL Software will update REALbasic every 90 days with both bug fixes and
new features.

"There are additional benefits to this new model," added Perlman. "Although
the pace of development remains the same, the Rapid Release Model gets new
updates into the hands of customers sooner and enables development
schedules to be more closely managed. This helps us deliver better quality
software, on-time, as promised."
