SANTA CLARA, Calif. and DUBLIN, Calif., - June 9, 2003 - Quadbase
Systems, Inc., a leading supplier of Java-based information delivery
and presentation solutions, and Sybase, Inc. (NYSE: SY), a leading
enterprise infrastructure and integration company, today announced
that the companies are working together to provide robust charting and
reporting to transactional systems and applications powered by
Adaptive Server Enterprise, Sybase's enterprise-class relational
database management system.  Quadbase will integrate Quadbase
EspressReport, a Java reporting tool, with Sybase ASE, and Apple
WebObjects 5.2, a leading application server.  The integration
will enable developers to create reporting solutions and present
information from multiple applications and data sources in
real-time.

"Real-time reports are critical components of an effective
ERP system and we found Quadbase's EspressReport solution to be one of
the easiest to integrate with Sybase ASE," said K.R. Prasad,
President of PowerEasy Corporation.  "We needed a
server-based, all-Java application to generate and deliver
sophisticated reporting from an Xserve server to members of the
extended enterprise worldwide, and Quadbase came out way ahead of the
competition."

"Sybase partners with companies like Quadbase to provide
solutions that are built using Sybase's enterprise-class
infrastructure software and provide a compelling business value to
customers," said Herman Li, vice president of engineering, Sybase
Enterprise Solutions Division.  "By leveraging Sybase ASE as
a repository for mission-critical enterprise information, Quadbase
provides our customers with charting and reporting capabilities -
transforming data into critical business insight."

Quadbase EspressReport is a powerful Java reporting tool that
allows users to easily develop and deploy sophisticated,
information-rich reports across any platform.  By taking
real-time data reporting out of its traditional "application
silos" and fueling a powerful class of business intelligence-like
capabilities across key business applications, Quadbase's integration
with Sybase ASE enables customers to truly gain a comprehensive view
of their business.

"Robust integration with leading relational database
management systems (RDBMS) like Sybase ASE and leading application
servers like Apple's WebObjects allows our customers to leverage
existing infrastructure technology investments," said Fred Luk,
president of Quadbase.  "Our integration capabilities also
give customers greater flexibility in adapting real-time data
reporting to span their entire organization and integrate with
critical silos of information and applications for much better
business performance."

Sybase partners with industry-leading solution providers to bring
innovative technologies to market to solve customer business
problems.  Committed to the philosophy that partnerships should
be mutually beneficial, Sybase's Business Solutions Alliance Program
connects partners to the resources they need to profit from the
relationship, including quality product, tools, training and access to
marketing, business and technical support.  To learn more about
