Printroom.com: Enhanced Support for Online Storefronts

Printroom.com Announces Enhanced Support for
Managing Online Photography Storefronts for Mac OS X

Mac-based pro photographers using Printroom.com as their storefront now
have increased capabilities and speed with Pro Studio Manager 2.5, a robust
application for managing, uploading, and fulfilling photo orders.

Macworld San Francisco, January 12, 2005-Printroom.com (Booth #1848), the
leading provider of online storefronts and digital lab services to
professional photographers, today announced the release of Pro Studio
Manager 2.5 for Mac OS X. Pro Studio Manager (PSM) provides a complete
digital photography management tool for photographers using Printroom.com
storefront and lab services, including the creation and management of image
galleries and fulfillment of client orders. Now, with PSM 2.5, Mac-based
photographers using Printroom.com storefront and lab services will enjoy a
variety of functionality upgrades allowing them to better manage galleries,
batch-process images, configure image presentation, and fulfill orders
automatically.

"The Mac is a powerful and important computing platform for many pro
photographers, and we are committed to providing our Mac pros with
groundbreaking image management software," said Carlton Osborne,
Printroom.com CEO. "Our Mac pros have always enjoyed top-notch service from
Printroom, and now we are providing a solution that will exceed the high
expectations they have for Printroom products and services."

Pro Studio Manager. When photographers using either Mac or PC operating
systems join Printroom.com, they are eligible to use PSM at no charge. A
powerful application for managing thousands of images and numerous online
galleries, PSM provides the ability to create and upload image galleries,
fulfill image orders, and manage many aspects of online storefronts. PSM
becomes an integrated part of the digital photographer's workflow,
streamlining the process of getting images online so that they may be
presented and sold. Once a sale has been completed, PSM also manages order
fulfillment. This enables photographers to spend more time shooting photos
and less time processing orders.

Key New Features. The biggest improvement in PSM 2.5 is speed. PSM 2.5 is
optimized for high-volume photographers, such as those shooting weddings
and sporting events, producing large quantities of images, and posting them
online. Behind the scenes, PSM's new EXIF "ripper" speeds thumbnail
generation and display, while an enhanced multithreading mechanism allows
photographers to perform multiple functions simultaneously.

PSM 2.5 also includes a "batch gallery creation" tool that allows multiple
galleries to be created and posted together. In addition to saving time,
this feature decreases the use of hard drive space. For large-scale image
management tasks, a "gallery archive" tool is has been added to move
galleries to external storage devices, including network drives. With PSM
2.5, pros will also be able to configure customized thumbnail displays on
their Web galleries. Finally, the "data integrity validation" tool provides
a way of ensuring a gallery's images have not been mistakenly deleted when
managing galleries outside of PSM.

"Printroom has made a significant investment in engineering resources to
develop our support of the Mac platform," said Mark Shapiro, Printroom.com
CTO. "PSM 2.5 for the Mac provides superior ease-of-use, stability, and
standalone performance that, combined with Printroom.com's online features
and services, make it the most robust image management and Web storefront
tool available to photographers today."

In addition to the features described above, PSM 2.5 also provides a number
of other new elements. Perhaps the most notable feature, the "incomplete
order indicator," serves as a convenient reminder to pros by showing how
many images are needed for order fulfillment.

Additional technical details regarding the new features and performance of
PSM 2.5 are available upon request. Photographers can work with their
individual account managers to learn how to make the most of this
application's enhancements. Pro photographers may join Printroom.com by
paying a $99 membership fee, which provides hosted space for more than
7,500 images, PSM 2.5, business services, training, customer service and
technical support, as well as access to the creation and management of
online galleries. To download PSM 2.5, please visit
