SAN JOSE and DUBLIN, Calif. - April 29, 2003 - PowerEasy Corporation, a
leading provider of enterprise application software, and Sybase, Inc.
(NYSE: SY), a leading enterprise infrastructure and integration company,
today introduced PowerEasy ERP for Apple Xserve, a suite of enterprise
resource planning (ERP) applications powered by Sybase Adaptive Server
Enterprise (ASE). PowerEasy ERP's e-commerce, logistics, and financials
applications are specifically tailored to the needs of small and medium
businesses that require enterprise-class power and ease-of-use.

"As a leading distributor of electronic components to business and
consumers worldwide, we needed an ERP suite that could support our growing
online business," stated Tim Tung, general manager for On Electronics. "We
chose PowerEasy because uptime, response-time, scalability, and security
are critical to our success. We are a new customer for PowerEasy, Sybase,
and Apple, and are very impressed by the value offered by the combined
solution stack."

The PowerEasy ERP suite leverages the scalability, availability, and
reliability of the Sybase ASE data management system, bringing the same
high performance that Wall Street depends upon to the Mac community. It
also embeds Apple's WebObjects frameworks, and was designed to fully
compliment the Xserve platform. PowerEasy ERP applications for e-commerce,
logistics and finance were designed for security, rapid deployment and ease
of use. PowerEasy ERP applications offer users a personalized experience
based on their role in the enterprise. The suite is built with an open
architecture employing industry standards. Pricing for the PowerEasy ERP
suite is approximately twenty percent less than comparable solutions on
Windows platforms, and starts at $40,000 per CPU plus support, including
unlimited client licenses.

"We are very excited about bringing to the Mac community a level of
enterprise computing that has never before been achieved on an Apple
server," said K. R. Prasad, president of PowerEasy. "The PowerEasy ERP
suite has the power to support hundreds of thousand of users and
transactions, and to serve members of the business community while at their
desks or on the road."

"Sybase ASE is the perfect data management system for high-performance
applications on the Xserve platform," said Steve Bertges, vice president of
Macintosh business for Sybase, Inc. "The ASE architecture allows small and
medium-sized enterprises to run scalable, reliable, and secure applications
on a single Xserve server, while maximizing uptime and response time. This
ensures they are able to affordably transform their enterprise data into
economic value, by getting the right information to the right people at the
right time."

"PowerEasy's release of the first enterprise ERP application on the Xserve
platform should strengthen Apple's appeal among small to mid-sized
companies in helping them leverage their existing investment," said Albert
Pang, enterprise applications lead at IDC. "ERP systems will drive hardware
sales as users standardize on them, making better use of their core
information assets to increase efficiency and collaboration among
employees, customers and business partners. PowerEasy could serve as the
glue that enriches every party involved."
