P & L SOFTWARE LTD ANNOUNCES FILEMONITOR 4.0.5 FOR MAC OS X AND MAC OS X

AMERSHAM, January 5th 2001 -- P & L Software Ltd today announced the
release of an update to FileMonitor, the essential System Awareness tool.
FileMonitor now supports printing, has undergone some UI improvements and
has fixed a bug with anomalous behaviour if you didn't specify a name for
the file to be monitored.
FileMonitor is a Freeware utility that allows you to monitor any number of
selected files for changes. For example, if you want to be alerted when
error messages are sent to /tmp/console.log or indeed to any other file or
folder you're interested in, FileMonitor will bring up a window showing new
input when it arrives. This can be particularly useful for system
administrators and software developers interested in process output or
debugging information.

FileMonitor is distributed as Freeware.
FileMonitor for Mac OS X is based on FileMonitor (versions 1 to 3) for
OPENSTEP and Mac OS X Server 1. Although it's origins precede Apple's
Console.app, FileMonitor contains a lot of much needed functionality
allowing it to be set up and forgotten about until the monitored files or
folders are updated.
