FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

OpenBase Developer Connection helps developers succeed -- while cutting
costs and development time

Program supports new and experienced developers -- from students and
entrepreneurial startups, to in-house development teams to create
cutting-edge Mac OS X applications

CONCORD, NEW HAMPSHIRE, USA -- January 25, 2002 - OpenBase International,
Ltd., developers of the first relational SQL database on Mac OS X, today
announced an extensive new program to help developers build solutions with
OpenBase SQL database technologies.

The OpenBase(R) database has long been recognized for delivering both:
scalable database performance and fault-tolerant data availability and
protection. The newly announced OpenBase Developer Connection(TM) (ODC)
program offers multiple levels of OpenBase Developer licenses and a variety
of services and resources, including: access to ODC Tool Connection(TM) for
publishing and sharing software; WebObjects and OpenBase Knowlegebases; a
complete extranet application for tracking purchases and technical support
questions; early access to OpenBase SQL beta software; and a substantial
credit for purchasing OpenBase SQL deployment licenses.

"The OpenBase Developer Connection delivers a whole new level of support
for developers designing innovative, next-generation applications for Mac
OS X and other platforms." said Matthew Renda, Director of Worldwide
Marketing for OpenBase. "Members gain affordable access to OpenBase
developer licenses, and powerful ways to share resources, knowledge and
source code with others. For example, we offer perhaps the most accessible
archive of WebObjects mailing list information available online. And, with
significant discount credits on standard licenses the program practically
pays for itself."

"Our objective with the ODC program is to help developers create the
software they envision, while reducing cost and development time." said
Scott Keith, CTO of OpenBase International. "We want every developer to be
able to leverage the full power of our database products."

"Mac OS X provides a rock solid foundation for developers to create
powerful applications," said Ron Okamoto, Apple's vice president of
Worldwide Developer Relations. "Developers have responded incredibly well
to Mac OS X, bringing many powerful applications to the platform, and can
now bring even more great programs to Mac customers due to the OpenBase
Developer Connection."

A valuable connection at many levels, Developers can choose among four
different level of membership when joining the OpenBase Developer
Connection, depending on the database features, tools, and resources they
need to design and build their applications:
