Open Door Networks Announces The Doorstop X Security Suite

OPEN DOOR NETWORKS ANNOUNCES THE DOORSTOP X SECURITY SUITE
A new, comprehensive approach to Macintosh Internet security

ASHLAND, OR. -- December 12, 2005 -- Open Door Networks Inc. today
announced an expanded line of Internet security products, the centerpiece
of which is its new DoorStop X Security Suite. Available immediately, the
DoorStop X Security Suite represents a comprehensive, integrated approach
to protecting Macs on the Internet. The Suite consists of major new
releases of Open Door's DoorStop X Firewall and Who's There? Firewall
Advisor, along with an electronic second edition of the book "Internet
Security for Your Macintosh: A Guide for the Rest of Us" (see "Open Door
Networks revs security product line" for individual product details). The
three revised products are designed to act together in the Suite, providing
users with both the tools and the information they need to better protect
their Macs on the Internet.

In a typical Suite scenario, an access attempt from the Internet to a
particular service on a Mac protected by the DoorStop X Firewall is blocked
and logged by that firewall. The log entry and associated information
(including risk factor) are immediately flagged and highlighted by Who's
There? in an intuitive, easy-to-understand format. The user can then delve
more deeply into details of the accessed service by viewing relevant
sections in "Internet Security for Your Macintosh." The user can also
invoke DoorStop X directly to change the protection to that service as
needed. Finally the user can browse through the book to learn more, either
from DoorStop X or Who's There? or using the included standalone PDF
version.

Through the DoorStop X Security Suite and scenarios like this one, not only
do users better protect their machines, but they also better understand the
issues associated with that protection.

Key integration aspects among the three Suite products include:

- Both the DoorStop X Firewall and Who's There? include "Internet Security
for Your Macintosh," browsable on a service-by-service or
section-by-section basis.

- Service entries in both DoorStop X and Who's There? let users view an
index of book sections associated with the service, and access the relevant
paragraphs in those sections directly.

- DoorStop X can automatically invoke Who's There? to display log details
or summaries and can tell Who's There? to display information about a
specific service or IP address.

- Icons and names added by the user to DoorStop X for specific services are
automatically used by Who's There?

- Who's There? can obtain and display DoorStop's protection status for any
logged service, and invoke DoorStop X to change that status.

"Our approach with the DoorStop X Security Suite is to help users help
themselves by providing them with the background information they need to
secure their systems, integrated directly into key tools for securing those
systems," said Alan Oppenheimer, president and founder of Open Door
Networks.

The DoorStop X Security Suite includes DoorStop X Firewall 1.1, Who's
There? Firewall Advisor 2.0 and both standalone and integrated copies of
"Internet Security for Your Macintosh: A Guide for the Rest of Us," second
edition. The Suite is available for purchase directly off Open Door's Web
site (www.opendoor.com) for a special introductory price of $69 through
January 31, 2006. Upgrades to the full Suite for DoorStop X Firewall and
Who's There? users are also available, as are free evaluation versions of
DoorStop X and Who's There?, along with a sample chapter from "Internet
Security for Your
Macintosh."

solutions that are as easy-to-use and as powerful as the Macintosh
