Pacific Software Publishing, Inc. (PSP) announces the release of VB RecMAIL
1.0.
POP3 Email retrieval support for Visual Basic programmers using Win 95, Win
98 and Win NT platforms.
VB RecMAIL 1.0 is a DLL that assists Visual Basic programmers in developing
applications that can retrieve Email from any POP3 Email server. In
combination with PSP$BCT(J VB SendFORM 2.0 (PSP$BCT(J SMTP programming
tool), Visual Basic programmers can create fully functional Email client
applications for Win 95, Win 98 and Win NT environments as well as create
web-based email functionality for Internet Server Applications.
Integrating Email communications within Internet, Intranet and client
applications is critical in business today. VB RecMAIL and VB SendFORM from
PSP aid Visual Basic developers in developing Email applications that are
fast, flexible and expansive.
VB RecMAIL 1.0 includes eleven predefined functions that give programmers
the ability to manipulate Email in several different ways. These functions
include checking the number of messages on a POP3 server and downloading
those messages from the POP3 server. Once the messages have been
downloaded, VB RecMAIL can generate message content and summaries into Text
or HTML files for programmer use. VB RecMAIL can also create associate
files that consist of: List File (a list of all text and attached files
associated with an individual Email), Header File and Attached Files. The
programmer can use these files as needed. As well VB RecMAIL can retrieve a
list of attached files from any given Email. VB RecMAIL includes two
utility functions. These functions include the conversion of Japanese or
English text into hexadecimal strings for multilingual applications and the
ability to delete all files from a specified directory except those with a
specific file extension.
