MILL VALLEY, CA - March 2, 1999 - Stalker Software, Inc. today
announced its release of CommuniGate Pro version 2.9, a Unified
Messaging Server which supports Apple's new high-performance Mac OS X
Server. With this announcement, Stalker Software provides the only
commercial Internet Mail Server for the MacOS X Server.

"Stalker Software is pleased to continue their long history of
development with Apple, beginning with the CommuniGate Messaging
Server and the Stalker Internet Mail Server for Mac OS 8.5," said
Vladimir Butenko, President. "Mac OS X Server is a significant
product because it offers all the power of a Unix system yet is much
easier to install and configure. We expect it to be a great fit with
our customer base of ISP's and corporations"

CommuniGate Pro is designed for an entire range of systems - from
small offices on up to the major Internet providers. It inherits all
the features developed and successfully used in CommuniGate/MacOS and
SIMS, but has added real scalability in supporting hundreds of
thousand of accounts while still being easy on resources and set up
demands.

Since Stalker Software provides the only commercial Internet Mail
Server for the MacOS X Server, it is shipped on the Third Party CD to
be distributed along with the MacOS X Demo Server CD available soon.
Since its first commercial release in September 1998, sales have
increased significantly among ISP's and corporations, running Unix
and NT servers, some even running the MacOS X Server in beta.

"Mac OS X Server will be an excellent Internet server, with great
Apache support and tight integration with Apple's WebObjects
application server," said Ken Bereskin, Apple's director of software
product marketing. "By working with innovative developers, such as
Stalker Software, we can extend the functionality of Mac OS X Server
into new areas like the messaging server market."

Stalker sees the MacOs X Server as a significant contender in the
assortment of Unix flavors on the market today. It is much easier to
install than other Unices and fits nicely with Stalker's targeted
market of ISP's and corporations. However, CommuniGate Pro is so easy
to configure and maintain that a 50 User license is offered. This
partners well with the ease of use of the MacOS X Server, its
scalability and Apple's User Friendly systems.

In addition to supporting MacOS X Server, CommuniGate Pro is
available on Windows NT/9x, Linux, Sun Solaris, FreeBSD, D/Unix,
Irix, HP/UX, and BSDi.

Components and Features

CommuniGate Pro communication and access modules provide all types of
messaging services required for todays applications. The SMTP module
sends and receives messages via the Internet using ESMTP with DSN and
multichannel queuing. The POP and IMAP modules implement the standard
POP3 and IMAP4rev1 protocols as well as most known extensions to
these protocols. This allows virtually all mail applications to work
with CommuniGate Pro mailboxes. The HTTP module supplements these
modules with Web Access to user E-mail, eliminating a need for mailer
applications on client computers. The RPOP module can be used to
retrieve mail from remote hosts via the POP3 protocol. The LDAP and
ACAP module provide access to various user-, domain-, and server-
level databases and datasets, including the automatically maintained
Central Directory.

Web Based Interface

CommuniGate Pro is administered via Web interface and can be easily
configured, controlled, and monitored from any computer on the
Internet using any Web browser application. Installing and
configuring CommuniGate Pro is easy as the basic set up contains
default pages where you simply insert your domain names and then
accounts information.

The Command Line Interface is provided, too, making it easy to
control the Server using external applications and scripts.

Additional features of CommuniGate Pro include: support for dial-up
client mail systems with registered or virtual domains, simultaneous
symmetric access to mailboxes with the IMAP, POP and Web components,
full-featured mailing list server with Web access and interactive
archive search, Web interface to user mailboxes and settings,
user-configurable auto-response ("vacation") messages as well as
various automated mail processing rules, extensive routing
capabilities, a centralized Log for simple trouble shooting and much
more.

The Web Interface is fully customizable to include anything from
logos or banner advertisements to company announcements, and can be
updated remotely by domain- and/or server administrators using any
Web design software.

Anti-Spam Features

Stalker Software is known for the sophisticated Anti-Spam features in
their current mail servers, and CommuniGate Pro is no exception.
These features include: restricted relaying, black-listing IP
addresses, domains and individual accounts; return-path verification,
and support for DNS-based black-list servers (RBLs).

Try Before You Buy

CommuniGate Pro is marketed in the same manner as the CommuniGate
System for the MacOS. There is a Free Trial Version available at
(http://www.stalker.com/ CommuniGatePro/). This version is the actual
software for purchase, but it adds banners to the transferred
messages. Stalker issues license "keys" that should be entered into
the server settings to disable these banners.

CommuniGate Pro Pricing packages are as follows:

License Includes Price

Professional 50 User License, 2 mailing lists $499.00 USD
Corporate 200 User License, 4 mailing lists $999.00 USD
Enterprise 1000 User License, 10 mailing lists $1999.00 USD
ISP 30,000 User License, unlim lists $4999.00 USD
Large ISP Unlimited User License, unlim lists $29,999.00 USD
