ALADDIN SHIPS SPRING CLEANING 3.0- THE #1 MAC UNINSTALLER CLEANS
FASTER, EASIER AND SAFER WITH INCREASED SEARCH SPEEDS, IMPROVED
INTERFACE AND NEW RESTORE FEATURE

Spring Cleaning 3.0 Is Now Faster And More Powerful At Helping Users
Safely Organize Their Applications, Files, Folders And Fonts For
Maximum Efficiency

Watsonville, CA-February 17, 1999- Aladdin Systems, Inc., today
announced Spring Cleaning(tm) 3.0 is now shipping. Spring Cleaning is
the number one uninstaller for the Macintosh, and version 3.0
provides twelve easy utilities to help users clean their hard drive
by searching for and removing unneeded files, applications, folders,
and fonts. Spring Cleaning 3.0 has increased speed and performance
and its new features include the ability to restore items, check for
damaged files, search for invisible files, and a bonus application,
Aladdin Desktop Magician(tm).

"Becoming more efficient and organized are everyone's goals, and
Spring Cleaning is the best solution for relieving a cluttered,
overloaded computer," said Pauline Shumake, product manager. "Only
Spring Cleaning 3.0, with its easier-to-use interface and powerful,
faster searches, will help users quickly identify ways to organize
their computer's chaos and leave behind a clean and lean machine."

SPRING CLEANING 3.0 NEW FEATURES AND BENEFITS New Interface
The Spring Cleaning interface has undergone a major makeover to help
users quickly navigate through the cleaning process. Added
enhancements make it more intuitive, faster and easier to use than
ever before.

Increased Speed and Performance
Spring Cleaning has been rewritten to produce faster and more
thorough searches. Finding unwanted files now takes less time and
effort for the user.

Restore Function
The new Restore feature acts as a safety net by allowing users to
reverse their actions and restore items to their previous location.
Items moved to other mounted volumes, such as networks or removable
media, can also be restored.

File Checker
Spring Cleaning now checks for damaged files (files with an impaired
structural integrity). Users can save added disk space by removing
these unusable files, or they can repair the files if they own a disk
repair utility.

Exclude Extensions and Control Panels Preference To increase the
speed of MacUninstaller(tm) searches, Spring Cleaning now includes a
default setting preference to allow users to exclude extensions and
control panels from MacUninstaller searches.

Invisible Files Now Included in Searches Invisible files associated
with applications are now included as a separate category in the
search results window. Users can perform the same actions on these
files as if they were regular, visible files. This provides a more
thorough, complete cleaning.

Desktop Management Utility
Aladdin Desktop Magician creates personalized desktops to help manage
the selection and arrangement of items on users' desktops. Included
on the Spring Cleaning CD-ROM, this bonus utility helps users to be
more organized and productive in their work.
