Sonnet Tops Lineup with 333 MHz and 360 MHz PowerPC G3 Processor Upgrade
Cards for PCI Macs.
IRVINE, CALIFORNIA. August 13, 1998. Sonnet Technologies, the leading
manufacturer of performance upgrade products for Apple MacintoshTM
computers, introduced two new models in its line of CrescendoTM G3
processor upgrade cards for PCI Power MacintoshTM Computers. The new
Crescendo G3 upgrades, based on the latest PowerPCTM G3 (750) processor
technology, set new price performance standards for high-end processor
upgrades. The new cards will be available in the following configurations:
Crescendo G3 - 333 MHz with 1MB 2:1 ratio backside cache.
Crescendo G3 - 360 MHz with 1MB 1.5:1 ratio backside cache.
The 333 MHz and 360 MHz models, geared for high-end, performance-hungry
applications, produce impressive MacBench processor scores of 1150 and 1300
respectively - up to 722% faster than the original system.
Consistent with the first series of Crescendo G3 upgrade cards, the
Crescendo G3 333 MHz and 360 MHz have been designed to be universally
compatible with all of the following Macintosh models:
* Power Mac 7300/7500/7600/8500/8600/9500/9600
* Power Computing PowerWave
* UMAX J700/S900
The 360 MHz model also works in the Power Computing Power Center, Power
Curve and Power Tower.
As with all Sonnet processor upgrade products, the new Crescendo 333 MHz
and 360 MHz cards are easy to install, are backed by a three-year warranty,
include free technical support, and require no switches, jumpers, or
control pannel settings.

Shipments will begin on or before October 1 for the Crescendo G3-333 MHz.
