SOFTWATCHER AND VERSIONS! JOIN EFFORTS TO TRACK MACINTOSH AND PC SOFTWARE -
PROVIDING USERS WITH INSTANT EMAIL NOTIFICATION AND HOURLY UPDATES ON
WEBSITE

Los Angeles (June 1, 1998) - SoftWatcher and Versions! announce an
agreement to join efforts in tracking Macintosh and PC software, and
notifying users of new software releases for both platforms. Working
together gives users an expanded range of options for keeping track of
the latest news and releases in the software industry. Combining their
search efforts also improves the likelihood that even relatively obscure
releases are identified and announced.

Many updates and bug fixes correct problems or boost performance with
applications, operating systems, and even hardware peripherals.
Nevertheless, keeping up with software and operating system upgrades is an
overwhelming task and a majority of the public simply are not aware of such
upgrades. The SoftWatcher-Versions! partnership provides Macintosh and PC
computer users the convenience of not only having all the software and
operating system upgrades available on one site, but also available to them
through email. No longer will users be required to surf 40 different
corporate webpages to search for upgrade and downloading info.

Cooperation between the two companies gives users the option to receive the
latest software news and releases through two different ways: (1)
SoftWatcher publishes this information as a list, complete with product
descriptions, changes in the current version, features, reviews, costs, and
links to the author's homepage and direct-downloads -- all available at
http://www.softwatcher.com; or (2) Versions! (http://www.versions.com)
enables users to track specific products and receive email notification
when changes in those products occurs.

Versions!' email notification contains the name of the product the user is
tracking, its version number, and the date of its release. Additional
product information is available through SoftWatcher's special Versions!
page (http://www.softwatcher.com/versions), making it easier for users to
locate and view detailed product descriptions and download links.

Versions! is the first web-based service to help people keep up-to-date on
software upgrades via e-mail notification. Users establish an account at
Versions!, identify the software they want to track, and rely upon the
system to let them know about upgrades. Over 60,000 products and all major
operating systems are covered by Versions! Users can search the web site by
developer, OS or application category, and sign-up via an online form to
receive e-mail notification of new developments. The Versions! database of
products grows rapidly as any developer can include their software in the
Versions! database quickly and easily.

SoftWatcher offers a listing of daily software releases for both Macintosh
and PC platforms, updated each hour. Collaborating with thousands of
software professionals across the internet and all parts of the world
enables SoftWatcher to timely report the latest in software releases and
news, to become the fastest and the most comprehensive site to find the
latest in the software industry. SoftWatcher also features software news,
Macintosh and PC software resources, and more.

By joining efforts, SoftWatcher and Versions! have created a software
upgrade and tracking service unparalleled and available nowhere else in the
world through any media including radio, television, print, and the
internet.

To submit products, please visit SoftWatcher at
http://www.softwatcher.com/submit/ or Versions! at:
http://www.versions.com/updates/user_update_report.html

We hope to see you soon!
