[NPL] SiteEditor.com Goes Live

SiteEditor.com, a revolutionary online content management system, goes live.

East Sussex, UK - January 18th 1999. SiteEditor.com, the
revolutionary online content management system announced at this
year's MacWorld Expo San Francisco goes live today.

SiteEditor.com, accessible on the Web at http://www.siteEditor.com/,
enables organisations to quickly and efficiently build and maintain
web sites in a zero-HTML publishing environment.

"What really sets SiteEditor.com apart from other content management
products is that it's a web based application. The customer does not
have to install any software on their computer other than a standard
web browser, available free of charge from Microsoft or Netscape. In
addition, there's no hardware to buy and maintain. We host the
content management server and the software. The customer accesses our
site via the Web to perform all their web site management tasks and
finished HTML and graphics files are transferred by FTP to the
customer's own web site elsewhere on the Internet", said Dan Garner,
Managing Director of NewMedia Workshop, "Alternatively, we can also
host the web site and pages can be rendering dynamically from the
content database."

"Traditionally, content management systems are expensive. Take, for
example, Vignette StoryServer. It would cost many tens of thousands
of dollars to get this system up and running. This has stopped all
but the upper echelon of web sites from investing in such a system.

With SiteEditor.com, we're empowering users, for no start-up fee and
then only $50 per month, with a powerful content management system to
look after the day to day content management of their web site - a
task which we all know is the biggest single cost, both in time and
effort, for a web site owner.

This converts to great savings for the customer. Not only is there no
investment in technology, but the support and maintenance costs are
vastly reduced. Using SiteEditor.com, the return on investment for a
company is much faster."

The system can also link into a company's existing content production
methods by using a companion application for Windows and MacOS called
SiteEditor Gateway. An organisation can easily route existing word
processor or database content through SiteEditor Gateway and onto the
SiteEditor.com site.

In addition to web pages, Adobe Acrobat and QuarkXPress XTags
(produced by Em Software) compatible files can also be automatically
generated, making SiteEditor.com an ideal solution in a mixed-media
publishing scenario.

SiteEditor.com is already in use at some high profile sites in the
UK. These include:

* Mirror Group Newspapers - one of the largest newspaper publishers
in the UK. SiteEditor.com is being used to produce sections of the
Racing Post (http://www.racingpost.co.uk/) daily sports newspaper web
site which comprises over 400,000 web pages.

* Aberdeen Independent Newspapers (http://www.aberdeen-indy.co.uk/) -
the service is used to manage the production of the site's editorial
content.

* The British Horseracing Board (http://www.bhb.co.uk/) -
SiteEditor.com is used to produce areas of the governing body of UK
horseracing's site.

* Northampton Saints Rugby Football Club - This premier league Rugby
Union club will be using the service extensively when their site
launches soon.

Feature Highlights

* Zero-HTML publishing environment
* Rapid deployment of web sites
* Cross platform
* Web browser based site management
* Zero investment
* Low cost monthly subscription
* Secure encrypted connection
* Database interconnectivity
* Integrated multimedia database
* XML aware
* Remote team-based collaboration
* Quickly repurpose content for Adobe Acrobat and QuarkXPress.

Requirements

SiteEditor.com is web browser based, so is compatible with both
Windows 9X/NT and Mac OS. Version 4 or above of either Microsoft
Internet Explorer or Netscape Communicator/Navigator is required.

Pricing and Availability

SiteEditor.com is a web based application so there's no costly
software or hardware for the customer to purchase. Instead, a
subscription fee gives subscribers access to the powerful content
management system via their existing web browser. Subscriptions start
at just US$50 (35 in the UK) per user per month including toll-free
technical support. Academic users receive a 40% discount.

Our 10 user price freeze means subscribers pay no more for 25 users
as they would for 10 users. These prices are then guaranteed for the
next 12 months of the subscription. This special introductory price
freeze offer is valid until May 1st 1999.

A 30-day free trial is available at
http://www.siteEditor.com/freetrial.html SiteEditor Enterprise

For those customers requiring the highest level of flexibility,
SiteEditor Enterprise provides the power of SiteEditor.com, but on
their own network.

Rather than accessing our content management server across the Web,
SiteEditor Enterprise installs on Windows NT servers to provide local
access to the system as well as improved integration facilities to
link to existing enterprise applications, such as databases,
editorial systems, asset management systems, etc.

Availability will be at the end of the first quarter of 1999. Pricing
will be announced soon. Windows NT will be supported initially,
followed by Power Macintosh, Mac OS X Server and Linux.
