[NPL] RPK Security SDK - Encryption for Streaming Media

RPK SECURITY'S ENCRYPTONITE SOFTWARE TOOLKIT PROVIDES STRONG AND FAST
ENCRYPTION FOR STREAMING MEDIA

SAN FRANCISCO, CA, MARCH 9, 1999 - RPK Security, Inc. (www.rpk.com),
a technology leader in strong and fast public key encryption,
announced today a breakthrough re-engineering of its RPK
Encryptonite(tm) Software Toolkit that provides a significant
increase in engine performance. Combined with new Indexed Encryption
for high-data-flow applications like streaming multimedia, the RPK
Encryptonite Software Toolkit v3.1 enables developers to add strong
security to Internet, software, hardware and communications
applications without performance degradation.

The RPK Encryptonite Toolkit offers a five-fold performance increase
on initialization and key creation. It accommodates out-of-order,
missing or corrupted/garbled data, without any noticeable performance
degradation or reduction in security. The new version also adds
additional sources of randomness for use in a variety of
applications, including server-only situations where user input is
not normally available.

"The RPK Encryptonite Software Toolkit's new high performance and low
processing overhead now make it possible to encrypt everything all
the time because there's no longer a computing resource or
performance penalty," said Jack Oswald, president RPK Security. "As a
result, companies that are concerned about the confidentiality of
Internet communications can have total protection of their data. At
the same time, consumers can be assured of their privacy."

The RPK Encryptonite Engine uniquely combines all the benefits of
public key systems (authentication, digital signatures/certificates,
key management) with the speed of a secret key system -- in one
algorithm. With the Encryptonite Engine's superior performance,
applications requiring streaming data, sound, video or numerous
transactions (such as credit card payments, VPNs, video conferencing,
and Voice over IP) receive instantaneous responses and secure
communication links.

"Performance is essential in our VPN via satellite application," said
Mike Hendry, Director, Communicado Data. "The RPK Encryptonite
Software Toolkit is the only technology we have found that provides
the seamless real-time performance we need and enables us to offer
strong and easily managed security to our customers in the high-speed
network environment. The fact that the RPK Toolkit is developed
outside the U.S. also gives us an advantage in some markets."

The RPK Toolkit includes ANSI standard C/C++ libraries for
Win95/98/NT, HP/UX, Sun Solaris (C only) and Linux, Delphi 3.0/4.0
VCL component for Win95/NT, DLL and ActiveX. It also has been
compiled and tested with Visual C++, Borland C++ Builder and gnu/g++.
Because the RPK Toolkit is developed outside the U.S., it is
available worldwide with strong encryption.

Pricing and Availability:

The RPK Encryptonite Software Toolkit V 3.1 is available for
licensing worldwide. Pricing starts at $695 per developer
(development only). Deployment license fees are based upon custom
configurations. For sales information, call (212) 488-9891 or e-mail
