Adobe Extends the Photoshop Family to Reach Imaging Enthusiasts and
Business Professionals

Adobe Photoshop LE Offers Affordable Entry Point to World Standard in
Digital Image Editing

San Jose, Calif., (June 17, 1999) (Nasdaq:ADBE)-Adobe Systems
Incorporated today announced Adobe Photoshop Limited Edition (LE)
software, an affordable entry to the world standard digital image
editing family. Previously only available as an OEM-bundled solution,
Adobe Photoshop LE will now provide imaging enthusiasts and computer
savvy business users access to professional level image editing tools
without the full range of Photoshop functionality at an estimated
street price of just $99 (U.S.). Available through retail outlets and
the Web, Photoshop LE software will round out Adobe Systems,
extensive digital imaging product line which includes Adobe Photoshop
5.5, Adobe PhotoDeluxe, and Adobe ActiveShare.

Adobe will demonstrate all of these new products-which serve the
entire range of users including Web and graphics professionals,
business professionals, and consumers-at next week's PC Expo in New
York City (Booth # 4334).

Adobe Photoshop LE is based on the capabilities found in the full
version of Adobe Photoshop-the image editing tool most frequently
used by Web and graphics professionals. Photoshop LE software
provides imaging enthusiasts and business professionals with the
essential functionality they need to edit, enhance and create images
that look as captivating as those created by graphics professionals.
In addition, customers who start with Photoshop LE will be
comfortable with the entire line of Adobe professional graphics
products which all have a consistent look and feel.

"With the addition of Photoshop LE, Adobe now has a complete family
of digital imaging solutions that serves the full range of
customers-from Web professionals, to traditional graphics designers,
imaging enthusiasts and consumers of all skill levels," said Bryan
Lamkin, vice president of marketing Adobe Professional Publishing
Solutions. "For customers who want to invest in a product family they
can easily grow with, Photoshop LE provides an important bridge in
our digital imaging software offering."

Adobe now offers versions of Photoshop software for graphics
professionals and non-professionals alike. For imaging enthusiasts
and business professionals, Photoshop LE offers the essential tools
for correcting and enhancing photos, compositing multiple images,
creating original artwork with a variety of special effects, and
outputting to desktop printers and common Web file formats. For
graphics professionals who need to create flawless print output and
cutting-edge Web designs, Adobe Photoshop 5.5 software provides
additional precision and control, broader color mode support, and
dynamic Web capabilities. The advanced Photoshop 5.5 features are
supplemented by productivity enhancements such as the Actions palette
for automated editing and the History palette for undoing multiple
edits.

Adobe Photoshop LE offers more creative options and greater control
than other comparably priced image editing applications. Unlike
competitive products, Photoshop LE software leverages the same core
color correction capabilities, creative tools, and user interface of
the full version of Adobe Photoshop. After having mastered the
capabilities of Photoshop LE, a user can easily take advantage of the
additional capabilities and precision image editing control offered
by the full version of Photoshop with room to experiment and grow.

Adobe Photoshop LE also features tight integration with the complete
family of award winning Adobe solutions-including Adobe After
Effects, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, and Adobe Premiere-to
enable users to create compelling designs, digital imagery and motion
graphics for the Web, multimedia and print.

Pricing and Availability
Adobe Photoshop LE is expected to ship in July for an estimated
street price of $99 (U.S.) through retail outlets and the Web. In
North America, customers who purchase and use Photoshop LE can
upgrade to the full version of Adobe Photoshop 5.5 for an estimated
price of $499 (U.S.). Registered Adobe PhotoDeluxe users can upgrade
to Adobe Photoshop LE for $79 (U.S.) direct from Adobe. For more
information customers can call 1-800-492-3623 or visit
