Pervasive Software Ships Tango Application Server for Sun
Microsystems Solaris Operating Environment

Windows and Mac Developers Can Now Deploy Tango-based Web
Applications on Solaris--Without Recompiling Code

AUSTIN, TEXAS--February 17, 1999--Pervasive Software Inc. (NASDAQ:
PVSW), a global pioneer in radically simplifying Web- and
distributed-application development, deployment and information
management, today announced immediate availability of the Tango 3.5
Application Server for Sun Microsystems, Inc. (NASDAQ: SUNW)
Solaris(tm) Operating Environment.

Web application developers can now build on Pervasives award-
winning Tango 3.5 Development Studio for Windows or Mac and
seamlessly deploy their applications on Suns robust Solaris
operating system--without rewriting their applications code. The
ability to deploy Windows- or Mac-based Tango applications on Solaris
speeds development and deployment cycles and contributes to low
cost-of-ownership.

Designed to enable scalable, cross-platform deployments, the Tango
Application Server for Solaris provides a comprehensive set of ODBC
drivers to access, manage and display underlying database content.
Tango allows developers to integrate JavaScript, Perl Scripts, Java
Classes and JavaBeans to facilitate the integration of other
applications into Tango solutions. Corda Technologies PopCharts
application is also included, allowing developers to combine data
from Tango to publish live graphs and charts on the Internet for
remote access by employees, partners, and customers.

"The Tango 3.5 Application Server for Solaris extends the Tango
Development Studios powerful Web development capabilities to a key
platform in the global business community," said Ron Harris,
president and CEO of Pervasive Software. "Tango dramatically
simplifies Web-application development, deployment and maintenance.
The resulting savings in time and money have a bottom-line appeal to
businesses of all sizes."

The Tango 3.5 Application Server for Solaris is available now direct
from Pervasive, priced at US$6995.

full-featured software, including Pervasives Tango 3.5 Web

high-performance Web- based business solutions. Users can download
