MIRAMAR SHIPS PC MACLAN FOR WINDOWS 95/98

New Version 7.2 Improves User Interface and Consolidates LAN, IP,
Remote and Windows 98 Support into One Package

SANTA BARBARA, Calif., February 2, 1999 - Miramar Systems announced
today it has begun shipping PC MACLAN for Windows 95/98 (version
7.2). This latest upgrade to Miramar's PC-to-Mac interoperability
software line combines LAN, internet and remote access; with Windows
98 support into one all-inclusive connectivity package.

"Today's network environments are more diverse and complex than
ever," stated Neal Rabin, Miramar's CEO. "By providing a
comprehensive solution, PC MACLAN empowers Windows 95/98 users to
answer cross-platform connectivity challenges; whether small home
networks or global enterprise-wide WANs (wide area network)."

In addition to providing a consolidated version of PC MACLAN that
addresses the majority of the users connectivity options, Miramar has
focused its improvements on enhancing the user interface and software
experience.

Version 7.2 Enhancements

o IP (Internet Protocol) support for Windows 98 - With IP support,
Windows 98 PCs can access any AppleShare IP 5.0 server whether its
located on a company's LAN, a satellite office on its WAN, or across
the globe over the internet or its intranet.

o Server icons reside in the System Tray - The print and file server
icons "minimize" to the System Tray as utilities, allowing more space
on the Task Bar for commonly used applications. Desktop workspace and
efficiency is thereby increased.

o Accurate display of large volume files - By incorporating AFP 2.2,
volume file sizes greater than 2 GB are accurately displayed;
especially useful for large graphics and database files.

o Server messaging -- Enhanced messaging capabilities enable file
servers immediate communication with clients upon log on. Clients can
be notified of important pending events, server information or
scheduled shut-down times.

o Simplified installation - Users will be up and running quicker with
the simplified installer that configures for LAN operation and
automatically binds to the active adapter card. Custom installation
allows remote access configuration.

o Easy conversion from demo to working version - The AppleTalk
Control Panel enables demo users to convert to a full working version
by simply typing the registration number into the control panel
without having to uninstall then re-install the software.

o Online Registration -- Software registration can now be
conveniently completed online.

System Requirements

PC MACLAN for Window 95/98 requires a 486 CPU or higher running
Windows 95 or 98 OS, 16 MB of RAM, 2.5 MB of free disk space, and an
Ethernet adapter card (NDIS 3.x or higher). For remote access, the
host system requires a 28.8 or higher modem, a PPP remote access host
(such as ARA), and AppleShare IP 5.0 (for IP functionality).

The U.S. suggested retail price for PC MACLAN for Windows 95/98 v7.2
