ParaSoft Releases Beta Version of CodeWizard for HTML, A Web Error
Prevention Tool for Use with WebKing

ParaSoft's CodeWizard for HTML is an Innovative Web Tool That
Prevents Errors by Enforcing HTML Coding Standards, Ensuring Web
Pages Appear Correctly on All Browsers and Allowing Developers to
Compose Effective Code Efficiently

MONROVIA, Calif., Feb. 1 -- ParaSoft, leading provider of software
productivity solutions, announced today the beta release of
CodeWizard for HTML, an error prevention tool that comes as a plug-in
for ParaSoft's web management tool, WebKing. CodeWizard for HTML is
an error-preventing web tool that automatically enforces HTML coding
standards and helps ensure that web pages appear correctly on all
browsers.

With web development becoming a significant undertaking for today's
businesses, CodeWizard for HTML is a necessary tool for companies
that demand on-line exposure or use the web for commercial purposes.
CodeWizard for HTML is a must for developers because it:

-- helps ensure code is viewed correctly by all browsers and search
engines
-- standardizes HTML code across web pages and sites
-- makes HTML code more effective
-- accelerates the learning curve for HTML

"Web developers and companies who do business on the web will benefit
significantly from CodeWizard for HTML," proclaimed ParaSoft CEO Adam
Kolawa. "Because defects in HTML can cause a site to perform
incorrectly, reflecting negatively on the company, CodeWizard for
HTML is essential for anyone planning to utilize the web seriously.
No web page should be published before CodeWizard tests it."

About CodeWizard for HTML:

ParaSoft created CodeWizard to automatically prevent errors for C++
and Java (TM) development. Now, with the invention of CodeWizard for
HTML, web developers too can automatically prevent and uncover
problems in their code. CodeWizard for HTML uses patent-pending
Source Code Analysis technology to automatically enforce HTML coding
standards, thereby preventing web page and web site errors which may
be unknown to a company, yet are frustrating visitors' attempts to
access their site. Once discovered, these errors are often time
consuming and costly to fix.

With CodeWizard for HTML, checking for and even preventing web errors
has never been easier. A single click on the Rule Enforcement button
in WebKing tells CodeWizard to check a file, a directory, or an
entire web site for coding violations. By default, violations are
divided into two categories. The first consists of rules that, when
broken, always result in page errors. The second set contains rules
that may result in errors under some conditions.

Guided by the standards presented in Chuck Musciano and Bill
Kennedy's HTML: The Definitive Guide*, CodeWizard for HTML enforces
hundreds of HTML rules including common errors such as missing
elements (e.g. ( P ) without a ( /P )), redundant elements (e.g. a
heading within a heading) and incorrectly used elements (e.g. ( li )
not in the context of a list). Every time a HTML coding violation
occurs, CodeWizard alerts developers of the exact violation and the
line on which it occurred. Moreover, CodeWizard offers a solution to
fix the error.

Companies can even design and tailor CodeWizard for HTML specifically
to meet their web development needs. Using RuleWizard, a graphical
rule creating plug-in, companies can implement their own HTML
standards for CodeWizard to enforce automatically. CodeWizard for
HTML even allows companies to suppress CodeWizard's enforcement of
guidelines which they wish to disregard.

About WebKing:

WebKing is a unique and novel web tool that detects errors on web
pages and web sites, provides simple solutions to correct web errors,
and allows web managers to thoroughly test a site before it goes
live. This revolutionary tool automatically tests Internet and
Intranet sites for critical web errors such as bad links, spelling
errors, missing sources, malformed URLs, empty URLs, duplicate
anchors, missing anchors, and orphaned files. In addition, WebKing
includes the world's first "HTML-aware" spell checker, meaning users
can automatically check spelling on web pages without getting false
reports caused by HTML tags (e.g. ( A HREF=... ), etc.). Furthermore,
web managers will benefit from WebKing's ability to automate
publishing, page compression, source control management, site
replication, and site packaging.

Availability:

CodeWizard for HTML is currently available for beta-testing. Those
