Newest Release in Adobe Photoshop Compatible Plug-In Series, MetaCreations
KPT 6 Generates Spectacular Image Effects for Print and the Web

Carpinteria, Calif., November 17, 1999 - MetaCreations Corporation
announced today the release of KPT 6, the most recent version of the
award-winning MetaCreations KPT series. This revolutionary series of
Adobe Photoshop compatible plug-ins offers extraordinary creative image
effects for print and the Web. KPT 6 provides professional graphic
designers, digital artists and Web content developers unique and infinite
creative possibilities to enhance digital content. KPT 6 features eight
plug-ins and two bonus filters that extend and enhance the creative
possibilities of Adobe Photoshop and compatible hosts.

"I've been using KPT filters for years," said Bryan Montford, Photoshop
User Magazine. "The MetaCreations KPT series has become a cornerstone in my
toolbox and in the professional graphics industry. With KPT 6,
MetaCreations has done it once again; offering a comprehensive set of
unique creativity filters that no serious designer should be without."

The KPT series is the most popular Photoshop compatible plug-ins available.
The eight featured plug-ins in KPT 6 share a consistent interface with
standardized workflow and control behavior that greatly reduces the
learning curve. Precise, numerical controls; large previews; real-time
performance; robust preset libraries; and easy image effect reproducibility
are just a few features that have profoundly enhanced user efficiency.

Plug-ins featured in KPT 6:
KPT 6 offers the following collection of plug-ins to produce compelling
graphics, striking digital art, unique backgrounds and complex textures and
text treatments for print and the Web:

KPT Materializer: Create dynamic surface textures using bump maps,
scaling (with tiling), panning, rotating, blur, and accurate lighting. Or
"bend" a source image over the contours of a surface texture.
KPT Equalizer: An all-in-one interactive plug-in that corrects blurred
images or adds creative effects by manipulating image frequencies.
KPT Gel: Use realistic 3D paint tools to synthesize a wide spectrum of
photo-realistic materials. Apply environment mapping, accurate lighting,
reflection, refraction, tinting, and transparency.
KPT LensFlare: Create realistic glows, halos, and lens reflections on an
image-simulating the reflections of a bright light on a camera lens.
KPT Turbulence: Create real-time 2D wave distortions and ripples with
realistic fluid motion. Output still images for print or produce short
animations.
KPT Reaction: Create organic textures like a zebra's stripes or the
growth pattern of coral. The resulting image tiles seamlessly.
KPT Projector: Add 2D perspective warp distortions or 3D transformations
to any image, or create infinite planar tiling at any angle.
KPT Goo: Smear, smudge, twirl, pinch, or "finger-paint" an image to
produce stunning image effects or short animations.

Also included are two bonus filters, KPT SceneBuilder and KPT SkyEffects
(formerly known as RAYflect Photo Tracer and RAYflect Four Seasons).
KPT SceneBuilder: Provides the tools to create realistic 3D scenes. Import
and render 3DS files, edit textures, and manipulate transparency, reflection,
refraction, and bump map properties.
KPT SkyEffects: Provides the tools to create stormy skies, breathtaking
sunsets, moonlit nights, and even rainbows. The professional ray tracer is
ideal for simulating Earth's atmosphere, or for generating textures,
backgrounds, and environment maps.
