MCGALLEN & BOLDEN LAUNCHES CUSTOM INTRANET APPLICATIONS AND TEMPLATES
THROUGH SECURE E-COMMERCE WEB SITE

SINGAPORE, 13 August 1998 -- McGallen & Bolden Asia, part of McGallen &
Bolden International (USA) and McGallen & Bolden (Ireland), launched its
suite of intranet/extranet applications and templates for small and medium
enterprises (SMEs) recently, and has also launched its secure e-commerce
web site for retail purchases of its software.

The first module launched by McGallen & Bolden is the HR Intranet (Basic)
Template, which includes all necessary templates and placeholders for a
typical human resource department within any SME environment. The module
will run on any web server and operating system (OS), including UNIX,
Windows NT, MacOS, LINUX, and even freeBSD. This is because McGallen &
Bolden has standardized its scripting environment to that of PERL, a
universal scripting language that has code transparency and cross-platform
compatibility.

The e-commerce web site is running SSL (secure sockets layer), one of the
most used security protocols for secure e-commerce web sites in the world.
McGallen & Bolden has chosen a Java-based shopfront since it is getting
ubiqitous these days with most of the client web browsers being
Java-compatible. Also, the online ordering and processing software, is
established and has secure credit card processing at the back-end. At the
same time, it allows McGallen & Bolden to focus on its core businesses
without toying with too much hand-coding.

According to Seamus Phan, technology/research partner of McGallen & Bolden,
"We chose this Java-based product, which is from Rocketfuel in Australia,
because of its functionality and ease of configuration. At the end of the
day, we are a small consulting practice which cannot invest more than
S$100,000 for the kind of thing that SingaporeONE is shooting for. At the
same time, SET protocol has not met with tremendous acceptance around the
world yet, and requires too much proprietary hardware and software.
Therefore, we went ahead with an industry-standard SSL online ordering
system, which is widely used by almost every online merchant in the world,
including Amazon.com, Apple Computer, and thousands of others."

McGallen & Bolden has in place strategic development for several intranet
modules which will seamlessly integrate with each other to form an
enterprise-wide intranet/extranet system, including:

- Human Resource Development (HRD)
- Human Resource Management (HRM)
- Financial Management (including accounting and backend integration)
- Sales and Marketing Management
- Customer Service and Support
- Technical Support
- Manufacturing Management
- Quality Management
- Logistics Management

As intranet applications are extremely portable across applications,
operating systems and even client machines, McGallen & Bolden's intranet
solutions will work with any type of computer system, host system, backend
database, accounting software, and network environments.

McGallen & Bolden also distributes the Cobalt Qube 2700 Micro Web Server, a
UNIX-based Internet and intranet hardware server, which runs the intranet
applications seamlessly, and can be pre-installed by McGallen & Bolden for
clients. The servers have a recommended retail price of US$1,249 only for
the basic configuration capable of running email, web, ftp, collaboration,
document management, right out of the box. McGallen & Bolden will be
offering secure credit card online orders through its RISCpower web site
(http://www.riscpower.com/) as soon as possible.
