IDG'S LINUXWORLD CONFERENCE & EXPO ANNOUNCES GREENHOUSE
FOR UP & COMING LINUX DEVELOPERS

FRAMINGHAM, MA and WESTLAKE VILLAGE, CA -- January 14, 1999 -- IDG
World Expo and Xplain Corporation announced today its partnership to
create the LinuxWorld Conference & Expo Greenhouse pavilion. The
LinuxWorld Conference & Expo Greenhouse offers new developers a place
to show off their innovative products and services in a designated
environment on the show floor. Limited to small companies, user
groups and non-profits, and focusing on the "up and comers", the
Greenhouse is certain to be one of the hot spots at LinuxWorld
Conference & Expo.

LinuxWorld Conference & Expo is the premier international conference
and exposition targeted for the Fortune-1000 business leaders and
developers of Linux technology. The event runs for four days, and
features a high-level, technical conference program, with industry
luminaries taking the spotlight. They will offer advice and solutions
on the hottest OS technology in the IT industry today.

"The 'Greenhouse' and pavilion concept have been a fabulous success
at other shows such as Macworld Expo." said Neil Ticktin, CEO, Xplain
Corporation and founder of Developer Central. "We're taking our
experience at helping the 'grass roots' community at trade shows, and
applying it to LinuxWorld Conference & Expo."

"The small developers are very important to us. With Xplain, we've
created the Greenhouse to cater to this group of companies that have
some of the hottest technologies, but aren't quite ready for a
regular booth on the show floor" said Charlie Greco, President, IDG
World Expo.

IDG's LinuxWorld Conference & Expo, sponsored by LinuxWorld Magazine,
Linux Journal, EarthWeb's Developer.com, InfoWorld, Macworld, Network
World, and Sys Admin, is expected to draw over 8,000 independent and
corporate Linux developers and business professionals.
