clipboard enhancement utility. iType is a new type of performance
enhancement utility designed to save you time and energy. With iType you do
not have to remember anything!! Start typing and the intelligence in iType
will help you type more quickly and accurately.

iType can be downloaded free from:

One of the great promises of computer technology was that it would make our
lives easier by allowing us to work faster and more easily with words,
numbers and data. The promise was that one person with a computer could do
the work of a hundred. This augmentation of our natural abilities has
finally come about but many people now find that they are expected to do
the work of a hundred people. Instead of shorter hours and an easier day
many of us are putting in more and more time in an increasingly demanding
schedule. Stress seems to be increasing. It is a fact and there are many
ways to deal with it. What we have done is design some tools to help
increase your effectiveness at everyday tasks.

Our products are designed to be easy, natural to use but extremely
powerful. iType was designed to help anyone who types to type faster and
more accurately. This may or may not help you to get a leg up on the
accelerating number of computer chores that you may have but it should help
with that building block of every computer task, typing. iType eliminates
tedious repetitive work and increases your ability to get the job done.

What is iType?

iType is an extension which watches as you type. As you type in any
application you build up iType's vocabulary. This happens automatically and
invisibly in the background. After a short time iType starts to use its
expanding database to recommend words based on the first few letters you
type. If you type 'alp' it will instantly show you the word 'alphabetical'
or some other word beginning with those letters that you typed previously.
Hit the spacebar twice and 'alphabetical' will be inserted. Or by clicking
on the iType palette you can see and chose from all possible words
beginning with 'alp'.

Even better than words is iType's ability to input long phrases. To use
this feature just highlight a phrase and drag it to the iType palette and
follow the instructions to give that phrase a mnemonic (a few letters to
represent the longer phrase). Thus 'ss' can be typed to input
http://www.scriptsoftware.com/ saving hitting quite a few keys and perhaps
making a mistake.

A side effect of using iType is that nothing you type is ever lost. iType
can remember everything you type even if your Mac freezes or the power goes
out and all your work is lost. With iType all your typing gets saved in a
text file as a kind of extra insurance for those times when the kids pull
the plug on your computer or other accidents. This iType feature is called
'Text Saver'.

iType is an evolving program. Let us know what you think and how we can
improve it. We hope to add many more useful features over the next months
and increase the intelligence of this program. Your suggestions and
recommendations are indispensable and always welcome.

Who needs iType?

The answer is simple, anyone who types. To understand why lets look at a
number of common problems which everyone has experienced at some time while
typing.

Why iType?

Because of these typing problems:

Problem 1 - Long Words

Typing an expression that is extraordinary long makes typing laborious and
time consuming. Some extreme examples:

* chemical formulas like "Desoxyribonucleinsure"

* place names like
"Taumatawhakatangihangakoauauotamateaturipukakapikimaungaho
onukupokaiwenuakitanatahu" which is a hill in New Zealand

* city names like "El Pueblo de Nuestra Senora la Reina de los Angeles de
Porciuncula" often called Los Angeles or LA for short.

* scientific names like "Uvulapalatopharangoplasty" which is a surgical
procedure for correcting sleep apnea and is also the longest word without
any "e's".

* some languages have many very long words like German and Sanskrit.

Problem 2 - Incorrect Spelling

Typing expressions which are hard to remember correctly:

* URLs: was it .com or .org? e.g.
http://members.aol.com/gulfhigh2/words.html

* Typing expressions which are frequently misspelled: e.g. accidentally,
maneuver, embarrass, pronunciation, mnemonic, occurrence...

* Writing in a foreign language: e.g. Kabriolett which means cabriolet one
of the favorite words of my two years old daughter

Problem 3 - Difficult to Type Expressions

* Some expressions are difficult to type, because of many accents which are
hard to find on the keyboard. e.g. "Bah'u'llh" - the founder of the
"Bah'-faith".

* Some words are just plain difficult to type. e.g. "Stewardesses" which is
the longest word that is typed with only the left hand.

Problem 4 - Global Declarations in Project Headers

Programmers often work on projects that contain global declarations which
are used often but are hard to remember or spell, or you simply wish to get
the correct spelling of all the 8000 toolbox calls e.g. "NewHandleSysClear"
or "SelectDialogItemText".

Problem 5 - Tiresome Long Phrases

Responding to email or writing reports often require using the same long
sentences over and over. This can be tiresome and time consuming.

Problem 6 - Physical Disability

A handicap may limit typing speed and accuracy.

There is a better way, an easier way, a faster way, and a more accurate
way. This is why iTYPE was created and that is what iTYPE is all about.

iType can be downloaded free for testing from: http://www.scriptsoftware.com/
