Intergraph Computer Systems Announces New Value-Priced, Graphics-Tuned
TD-260 PCs for Traditional CAD, Graphics Design, and New Media
HUNTSVILLE, Ala., Aug. 10, 1998 - Intergraph Computer Systems today raised
the professional PC price/performance value for customers with the
immediate availability of the new TD-260, starting at $2,175 (U.S.).
Powered by a single Intel(r) Pentium(r) II 350 or 400 MHz processor, and
offered with a choice of industry-leading 2D and 2D/3D graphics
accelerators, the TD-260 is an inexpensive powerhouse for mainstream CAD,
publishing production, and graphics design professionals who use 2D, and
occasionally 3D, design techniques. Optimized for high-performance, the
TD-260 delivers first-class 2D/3D graphics performance for CAD applications
such as AutoCAD and MicroStation(r) and graphics design applications such
as Adobe Photoshop and QuarkXPress. The TD-260 augments Intergraph's
award-winning TD product line of professional PCs with advanced features
such as higher processor speeds, 100 MHz SDRAM, and Intel's 440 BX chipset
for better systems and 2D/3D graphics performance.
"The new TD-260 delivers performance-packed features backed by Intergraph
quality and reliability at an exceptional price point that any CAD,
graphics design, or new media professional can afford," said Chandler Hall,
executive director of product marketing, Intergraph Computer Systems.
"Customers can easily implement this powerful PC equipped for managing
workflows spanning business, prepress production, graphics design, web
content creation, or traditional CAD."
Optimized for Traditional CAD
The TD-260 is optimized for high-performance traditional CAD with special
bundled features for AutoCAD, including 2D/3D acceleration productivity
plug-ins for AutoCAD and the free bundle of AccelVIEW editing and viewing
software. CAD professionals and production drafters using AutoCAD,
MicroStation, and other Windows NT- and Windows 95- or 98-based
applications, can choose between 2D and 2D/3D graphics accelerators and a
range of monitor options, making the TD-260 a flexible, cost-effective
solution. Additionally, AutoCAD users can configure the TD-260 with the
Vibrant Graphics SoftEngine 4.0 graphics accelerator software -- delivering
nearly three times the performance when using AutoCAD and AutoCAD-based
applications.
MacFriendly Windows NT Solution for Mac-based environments The TD-260 is
the newest addition of affordable MacFriendly(tm) solutions for graphics
design, new media, and publishing and prepress professionals. The TD-260,
loaded with the Extreme MacFriendly package from Intergraph, enables users
to seamlessly integrate this graphics-tuned system into existing Mac-based
environments. The Extreme MacFriendly Connectivity Package includes leading
applications like Adobe Type Manager , PC MacLAN for Windows NT, Color
Solutions Viewer, and Media4 Productions' MacDrive '98. These applications
give TD-260 users the ability to use Mac-formatted media, connect to
Mac-based networks, and perform font management, color correction, and
other essential operations. Creative professionals who use applications
like Photoshop or QuarkXPress experience significant productivity boosts
from the Connectivity Package and performance-proven Windows-based
platform. The result is a "best of both worlds" scenario for graphics
designers and other creative professionals who demand high-performance
technology on any platform to deliver on-time, quality output for their
customers.
