InstantObjects Automates e-Business Web Site Development

InstantObjects Platform Dramatically Reduces Time, Cost and
Complexity Of Creating and Managing Interactive, Commerce-Enabled Web
Sites

SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 1 -- InstantObjects, Inc., today announced its
flagship product, InstantObjects(TM), a fully integrated Java
platform for the rapid development, cost-effective deployment and
automated maintenance of complex and customizable e-Business web
sites.

Featuring an easy-to-use graphical user interface (GUI) to
automatically manage a site's data and business processes, the
InstantObjects e-Business Platform dramatically reduces the time,
cost and complexity of creating and maintaining endlessly adaptable
commerce web sites. The e-Business Platform allows developers to
create sophisticated web sites and web-based applications that can
interact with users, dynamically manage data, manage business rules
and offer commerce functionality -- all without requiring complex,
costly and time-consuming application integration and programming.
Forrester Research, Inc., estimates that it will take between
$780,000 to $1.5 million and from 26 to 39 weeks to upgrade the
capabilities of a limited-function business web site.

A highly integrated platform that operates in conjunction with
standard Java-compliant relational databases, InstantObjects is
shipped with the essential business plug-ins necessary to launch a
new e-Business site or upgrade the functionality of an existing site.
The e-Business Platform uses no proprietary programming languages, so
developers may create custom user interfaces and new business
plug-ins.

"The InstantObjects e-Business Platform is breakthrough technology
that dramatically increases the number of companies that are able to
create sophisticated high-end web sites," said Alan D. Mutter,
president and CEO of InstantObjects, Inc. "Before InstantObjects,
companies had to invest a great deal of technical expertise and money
to create web sites with the capability to dynamically manage
databases, work-flows, searching and matching, personalized
information and commerce. The InstantObjects e-Business Platform
contains the features most companies want, so developers simply can
integrate their new or existing user interface into our platform, use
our tools to gather and configure their data and move on to a
launched site. There is nothing like the e-Business Platform on the
market today."

Automatic Database Management

With sophisticated, object-oriented technology, InstantObjects makes
it easy for developers to power their web sites and web applications
with data extracted from any structured or unstructured source.
InstantObjects automatically manages the web site's underlying data
structure and makes it possible for even a non-technical site
administrator to update the entire site in real time, as it becomes
necessary to change content or business processes. This advanced
technology also allows developers to enhance the site and add new
functionality with plug-ins compatible with the existing functions
and operations of a site.

"InstantObjects provides us with an easy-to-use, straightforward
approach to managing data and has significantly compressed our web
development time," said Dean Reeds, General Manager for Torstar
Electronic Publishing. "InstantObjects allows us to take large
amounts of rough data and sort and organize it in a way that lets our
users extract the exact information they want -- quickly. Our
previous web tool was static and rigid, limiting our ability to add
site features. Now, we have complete flexibility with total
customization capabilities. Upgrading the look and feel of the site
and updating the data is much faster and simpler with InstantObjects."

Compatible with Existing Technologies

The InstantObjects e-Business Platform is compatible with virtually
all existing web technologies, including leading web servers, HTML
authoring packages, web site management applications and
Java-compliant database management systems. InstantObjects can
supplement existing sites quickly, adding automated data management,
robust commerce opportunities and personalized information delivery.

The InstantObjects Components

The InstantObjects platform includes an integrated suite of business
intelligence components operating on a robust and scaleable
web-application server. The features of the InstantObjects platform
include:

* InstantModeler(TM) -- An intuitive and easy-to-use GUI which
manages all the dynamic elements of the site. It controls how data is
extracted, configured and presented in the user interface, so long as
the user interface has been configured properly to accept such
information.

* InstantCommerce(TM) -- A GUI embedded in the InstantModeler gives
site operators the ability to specify billable items and events.
InstantObjects can link into the legacy billing system of a business,
or process credit card transactions through the CyberSource(TM)
clearing system bundled into the InstantObjects platform.

* InstantDBA(TM) -- Operating automatically with InstantModeler and
the underlying relational database, InstantDBA manages the insertion
of data into the database, the real-time indexing of the data stored
in the database and the rapid extraction of data into any number of
objects created by the site administrator. It revolutionizes database
management by automating the addition, modification and deletion
procedures that must be performed on conventional sites by a skilled
database administrator. InstantDBA ships with a software "bridge" to
ensure it rapidly ties into the underlying JDBC-compliant relational
database.

* InstantExtractor(TM) -- Structured or unstructured data from any
number of legacy sources is formatted in InstantExtractor and then
moved into InstantDBA. To process unstructured data, InstantExtractor
may be combined with a specially tailored natural-language parsing
engine.

* InstantServer(TM) -- A robust, multi-threaded, 100% Java web
application server, InstantServer speedily serves the data from
InstantDBA to any number of user interfaces operating on any number
of URLs. Data extracted from the database in response to a search is
cached in the multi-layered InstantServer to produce rapid search
results. InstantServer provides version control, session management,
granular tracking of customer movements on the site and much more.

* InstantSite(TM) -- A library of sample user interfaces is available
to assist site developers build user interfaces. With the APIs
published by InstantObjects, templates may be modified by developers
or completely replaced with user interfaces written in any web-page
authoring tool.

Practical Details

The InstantObjects platform is available immediately. It operates in
the Unix, Windows NT and Mac OS environments or a combination of all
three. Pricing starts at $35,000 per processor.
