HALCYON SOFTWARE INTRODUCES INSTANT ASP, THE ULTIMATE IN
CROSS-PLATFORM PORTABILITY FOR ASP DEVELOPERS
The Capacity for Build Once, Deploy Anywhere Web Applications on
Linux, IBM, HP, Sun, Novell and more at Only $495
SAN JOSE, CA, May 18, 1999 - Halcyon Software announces the
introduction of Instant ASP (iASP) which lets developers deploy
Active Server Pages (ASP) or JavaServer Pages (JSP) on all leading
Java-enabled operating system platforms, Web servers, and application
servers. A FREE developer version of iASP is available at
http://www.halcyonsoft.com which offers five concurrent sessions; the
standard edition is $495 SRLP.
As an open deployment framework, iASP gives developers true
cross-platform deployment capabilities on leading server and
operating system platforms. These include Apache, Linux, Sun
WebServer, Java WebServer, Netscape Fast Track, Enterprise Server,
IBM WebSphere, Lotus Domino, Zeus, WebStar, WebTen, Microsoft IIS,
Oracle Application Server, Microsoft Windows NT, IBM OS/2, IBM
AS/400, Novell Netware 4.0/5.0, Macintosh, SGI, Compaq/DEC, SCO, and
others.
"Instant ASP works like a cross platform superglue that lets
developers build multi-tiered, enterprise-class, distributed Web
applications that can be deployed on multiple platforms regardless of
which tools and components are used," said Don Hsi, President and CEO
of Halcyon Software. "With iASP, we allow developers to build once
and deploy anywhere."
Instant ASP is a Microsoft ASP-compatible servlet that replicates and
extends the ASP environment, and provides support for all standard
built-in objects and installable components. It gives developers the
freedom to use most industry-standard development tools, languages,
components and databases to build truly distributed, Web-based
applications.
Instant ASP supports VBScript, Jscript, Perl, and JavaScript. While
ASP gives developers access to NT/IIS-based development tools,
components, and languages, iASP greatly extends this core
functionality by providing support for Java, Java Server Pages,
JavaBean, Enterprise JavaBean (EJB), CORBA components, and other Java
platform technology.
