ACTIVE CONCEPTS SHIPS FUNNEL WEB 3.0

--New Streaming Analysis Engine Revolutionizes Web Traffic Analysis
Package, Now Also With Remote Control and Event Messaging--

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., January 5, 1998 -- at Macworld Expo -- Active
Concepts today announced it is now shipping Funnel Web 3.0 for the
Mac OS with revolutionary, new streaming analysis for real-time
traffic monitoring and for processing large logs,
platform-independent remote control, and event messaging and
notification. Now the world's fastest Web site traffic analysis
package can process extremely large log files with relatively small
amounts of RAM by using the new streaming analysis engine in Funnel
Web 3.0. The new streaming analysis engine can also be used to
monitor site traffic in real-time. Also new is the ability to control
and administer Funnel Web remotely, and get notified when pre-defined
events occur on the site. Available today for the Mac OS only, with
WiNT and Unix versions to be available in the coming weeks, at
(http://www.activeconcepts.com/), Funnel Web 3.0 is US$249/standard
and US$499/professional, with upgrades, crossgrades and educational
discounts available (see pricing and availability section below).

"Our new streaming analysis engine breaks new ground in Web analysis
technology, making it possible to constantly monitor active Web
sites," explained Dr. Darren Williams, president of Active Concepts.
"Coupled with our new remote control and event messaging users have
access to a sophisticated yet flexible system for managing their
entire online business."

Steve Lee of QuickSilver Interactive Group, Inc. said, "I pointed
Funnel Web at a 130MB log file, didn't bother configuring anything
and said 'go or break.' Went home expecting Funnel Web to take hours
or choke all together. Well, it took only fifteen minutes to chug
through the data. I did a quick print-out of a few graphic pages and
my client won't quit talking about the reports. Congratulations on an
excellent product."

Streaming Analysis For RAM-efficient Processing Funnel Web 3.0
includes a totally new streaming analysis system that continuously
monitors Web sites in a finite amount of RAM. Streaming analysis can
also be used for post-processing very large log files. For example, a
1 GB log file only requires 40MB of RAM for processing, either for
post-processing or in real-time. Unlike competing products, Funnel
Web's new streaming analysis mode allows users to continuously
monitor their Web site regardless of the size of the log file.

Remotely Control Funnel Web From Anywhere With Funnel Web's powerful
new platform independent remote control feature it is now possible to
run a copy of Funnel Web on any server and remotely control the
Funnel Web application from any desktop machine regardless of
platform. Offering new levels of power in remote control means that
users can finally have access to powerful Unix-based analysis on
their desktop machines.

Event Messaging Lets People Know
New event messaging and notification allows organizations to
continually monitor their Web site for specific events, such as user
accesses and download limits, and trigger messages to the appropriate
personnel when those events occur. Using the new event messaging
feature users can continuously monitor every Web server transaction
in real-time. For instance, users can set up an event to email the
sales department when a certain number of downloads has been
exceeded. ISPs can monitor for when a user has exceeded their
bandwidth. The possibilities are practically endless.

Product Overview
Funnel Web is a professional multiplatform Web analysis solution for
the business, eCommerce and education markets. Over 50 times faster
than its major competitors, this powerful Web profiling tool provides
sophisticated charting and profiling of online activity. Its
intuitive user interface, accuracy and depth of analysis makes Funnel
Web the leader in professional Web auditing.

System Requirements and Compatibility
Funnel Web 3.0 for the Mac requires a Macintosh 68030 or greater, or
any Power Macintosh. Mac OS version 7.1 or higher should be installed
with a minimum of 8 MB of RAM, 12 MB Hard Disc space and 8 bit video.

Pricing and Availability
Funnel Web 3.0 is available for the Mac OS only. Funnel Web 3.0 for
Windows '95, '98 and NT and Unix will ship in the coming weeks. An
Enterprise version of Funnel Web 3.0 will be available for Mac OS X,
