[NPL] Funnel Web 2.5

For Immediate Release

ACTIVE CONCEPTS SHIPS FUNNEL WEB 2.5

--Fast, Powerful Web Site Auditing Tool Now With Regional Reporting, Mean
Path Through Site, Offsite Processing, Domain Aggregating, and More--

CARLTON, Victoria, Australia, November 4, 1998 -- Active Concepts today
announced Funnel Web 2.5, a free upgrade to their Web site analysis
software, now with Regional Reporting, Mean Path through site, Domain
Aggregating, Offsite Processing and extended support for several new
servers and graphic formats. Available today for the Mac OS, with
Windows/NT and Unix versions to ship in the coming weeks, Funnel Web 2.5
provides rapid, detailed analysis, even when processing combined multiple
files from different servers. Known for its ease-of-use and speed, Funnel
Web is priced at US$249/Standard and US$499/Professional. Upgrades are free
to current registered users and available today at
(http://www.activeconcepts.com/).

"StarNine's site has grown incredibly complex," explained Luke van der
Westhuyzen, director of marketing at StarNine. "Funnel Web has
traditionally provided strong analysis for both design and marketing
purposes. Now, when we make a change to our intricate site, Funnel Web's
new Mean Path through site report quickly shows the direct impact of that
change. We can evaluate our efforts to reach our international markets with
Funnel Web 2.5's new Regional Reporting."

"Being able to see a visual representation of the Mean Path through your
site, is extremely helpful in making good business decisions," said Dr.
Darren Williams, president and CEO of Active Concepts. "Of course,
international companies appreciate breaking down reports by regions,
especially since we already support reporting in 12 different languages.
And now, businesses hosting their sites on an ISP's server can use Funnel
Web's Offsite Processing to locally analyze their remote site, even
combining mirror sites' data with the new Domain Aggregating feature."

Major New Reporting Features
The new Mean Path through site feature provides an easy to understand
representation of the mean path being taken through the overall Web site.
The mean path makes it easy to get a quick visual snapshot of the most
followed traffic pattern. Funnel Web's new Offsite Processing capabilities
allow companies hosting their site on a remote ISP's server to
automatically schedule Funnel Web to log into that ISP's server, download
the log file to their desktop via FTP, process the file, and then upload
the report back to their web server. Funnel Web is the only shipping
analysis product on the Mac OS to support Offsite Processing.

Compatible with current support for reporting in 12 languages, the new
Regional Reporting feature in Funnel Web 2.5 displays the number of hits by
seven geographic regions: Antarctica, Africa, Asia, Europe, South America,
North America and Oceania. Sophisticated new Domain Aggregating technology
enables customers to map several aliases of a Web site to one report.

More Servers and Image Formats
Memory processing enhancements in Funnel Web 2.5 have resulted in a
performance increase of up to 40% for large log files. Support has been
added for JPEG, PNG and BMP graphics, comma-delimited and RTF export, and
Robot exclusion through filtering on agents. Support has also been extended
for FileMaker and added for DoorStop, AppleShare IP and several new
routers. Funnel Web currently supports 72 different Web servers, including
leaders such as WebSTAR, IIS, WebSite, and all Netscape Servers. For a
complete list of products and protocols supported by Funnel Web please see
(http://www.activeconcepts.com/).

System Requirements and Compatibility
Funnel Web 2.5 for the Mac requires a Macintosh 68030 or greater, or any
Power Macintosh. Mac OS version 7.1 or higher should be installed with a
minimum of 4 MB of RAM (8 MB recommended), 10 MB Hard Disc space and 8 bit
video.

Pricing and Availability
The current Funnel Web 2.5 Upgrade release is available for the Mac OS
only. Funnel Web 2.5 for Windows '95, '98 and NT will ship in the coming
weeks. An Enterprise version of Funnel Web 2.5 will be available for IRIX,
Solaris, HP-Unix, Digital Unix, Linux and FreeBSD in the fourth quarter of
1998. Funnel Web 2.5 has a list price of US$249 for the Standard version
and US$499 for the Professional version, with discounts available for
educational institutions. Upgrades from Funnel Web 1.x or 2.0.x are
absolutely free for current users of Funnel Web/Mac OS. Further details on
