* iMac promotional pricing on unique EtherWave Printer Adapters
* New Fast Starlet 10/100 dual-speed hub for ultimate flexibility &
performance

ALAMEDA, Calif., July 28, 1998 - Farallon, a division of Netopia Inc.,
today announced a full-range of connectivity solutions to network the iMac.
The new EtherMac iPrint Adapter LT, due to ship in September, will allow
for the integration of iMacs with existing printers and other network
devices in homes, schools and businesses. Additionally, starting August
15th- specially for the iMac, Farallon is running a limited-time
promotional offer on EtherWave Printer Adapters to connect iMacs and
LocalTalk devices. Both the EtherMac iPrint Adapter LT and EtherWave
Printer Adapters eliminate the need for iMac owners to purchase new
printers for use with their iMac.

Farallon's new 8-port 10/100 Fast Starlet Dual Speed Hub is the perfect
networking solution for iMacs and other networked devices. Every port
seamlessly works at 10 or 100Mbps, allowing users to take full advantage of
the iMac's built-in 10/100 network interface for maximum throughput, while
providing the ability to easily integrate existing 10Base-T Ethernet
devices.

EtherMac iPrint Adapter LT for LocalTalk Printers & Other LocalTalk Devices

The EtherMac iPrint Adapter LT will allow Apple's iMac to connect to
LocalTalk printers and other LocalTalk devices such as older Macintosh
computers.

Farallon's EtherMac iPrint Adapter LT (PN559):

* Features an integrated RJ-11 port for easy connectivity to an existing
LocalTalk printer or network.
* Provides 10Base-T Ethernet connection directly to an iMac, Ethernet hub or
other Ethernet-based Macs.
* Supports up to 8 LocalTalk-equipped printers or Macs.
* Sets-up in minutes; no software to install.
* Comes with all cables needed for direct connection to an iMac or network
connection to a 10Base-T hub.
* Includes a lifetime warranty.

The EtherMac iPrint Adapter LT will have an RJ-11 LocalTalk connection at
one end and RJ-45 10Base-T Ethernet connector at the other to plug into an
iMac, another Macintosh with Ethernet, or an Ethernet hub.

"In the world of education, it's critical that ever-tightening school
dollars leverage both the newest technologies and innovations, in addition
to investments previously made," states Ann Pittman, CEO of SchoolVision,
Inc. "Farallon's EtherMac iPrint Adapter LT will allow schools to bridge
the gap from LocalTalk printers to the hot new iMac from Apple."

EtherWave Printer Adapters available now for iMac connection to LocalTalk
Printers

Currently available, Farallon's unique EtherWave Printer Adapters easily
connect an iMac, another Ethernet-based computer and a LocalTalk printer-
making it the ideal solution for sharing the printer and transferring files
between two computers without the need for a hub.

Farallon's EtherWave Printer Adapters (PN842 & PN848) feature:

* 2 10Base-T Ethernet ports & 1 LocalTalk port
* Model PN842 supports 1 LocalTalk device; model PN848 supports up to 8
LocalTalk devices
* Link/Activity LEDs for at-a-glance monitoring
* Easy installation and set-up
* Comes with all cables needed for direct connection to an iMac or network
connection to a 10Base-T hub.
* Lifetime warranty

"Farallon's goal is to guarantee that Apple customers can network their new
iMacs to an existing network or printer, and get the easiest, fastest, most
reliable connectivity available," states Georganne Benesch, VP of Farallon
LAN Products. "These products deliver on this promise for iMacs in homes,
schools and small business."

Fast Starlet 10/100 Dual Speed Hub for Ultimate Flexibility & Connectivity

Farallon's Fast Starlet Dual Speed Hub/8 is an economical, compact,
plug-and-play hub ideal for giving iMac users maximum bandwidth and the
ability to integrate existing 10Mb devices, such as printers or older
workstations. Industry-standard N-Way auto-negotiation automatically
switches the ports between 10 and 100Mbs, and the built-in bridge provides
connectivity between the devices connected at 100Mb and those connected at
10Mb.

* 8 10/100Base-TX RJ-45 Ethernet ports plus one uplink port
* N-Way auto-negotiation selects 10/100 automatically
* At-a-glance LED monitoring for 10/100Mbps and Link/Activity
* Provides easy integration of 10Base-T and 100Base-TX devices
* Plug-and-play; no software drivers to install
* Universal external power supply for worldwide use
* Lifetime warranty

Farallon's Fast Starlet Dual Speed Hub/8 is ideal for environments, such as
schools, that need cost-effective solutions to integrate iMacs and other
100Mb-capable computers with existing 10Mb devices, but cannot afford more
expensive switching solutions.

"The importance of providing customers with the ability to connect the iMac
to a diversity of products is crucial," said Michael France, CEO of
MacCenter, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. "Customers look to integrate new
technologies with products they have already invested in."
