[NPL] Extensis Acquires Symantec's Suitcase

Extensis And Symantec Announce Strategic Licensing Agreement for
Suitcase Suitcase Joins Extensis' Full Product Line Designed to
Increase Creative Professionals' Productivity and Efficiency

Portland, OR - February 8, 1999 - Extensis Corporation and Symantec
Corporation (Nasdaq: SYMC) today announced they have reached a
definitive agreement on an exclusive licensing arrangement for the
Suitcase font management system. Effective March 1, 1999, Extensis
will assume sole responsibility for development, marketing, sales,
and distribution of Suitcase. Financial terms of the agreement were
not disclosed.

"Given Extensis' strategic focus on productivity and management tools
for professionals, this agreement is a win-win situation for Suitcase
users and Extensis customers alike," said Craig Barnes, president and
CEO, Extensis Corporation. "We look forward to continued development,
enhancement and support of the existing technology to ensure that
Suitcase remains the most effective tool for font management on the
market."

security and assistance, Symantec. "With this move, Extensis is
broadening its market appeal by providing additional solutions to
users who demand high-quality management tools."

Freeing Macintosh users to do their best work, Suitcase 3.0 is the
solution for total font management, providing automated features that
allow users to easily and effectively manage and organize fonts.
Suitcase has a long history as the best-selling font management
system and as one of the most widely used Macintosh utility programs.
With this agreement, Extensis will continue the Suitcase legacy by
providing superior font management technology to Macintosh users.

Pricing and availability

Extensis is planning to ship an upgraded version of Extensis Suitcase
in the second quarter of 1999. Both Symantec and Extensis will work
jointly to ensure a smooth transition for customers.
