[NPL] Electrifier Pro/QuickTime 3 ships

For Immediate Release

**Electrifier, Inc. ships Electrifier Pro for industry-standard
QuickTime--first professional tool for creating fast web multimedia using
all content types

Research Triangle, NC. December 7, 1998. Electrifier, Inc.
(http://www.electrifier.com) today shipped Electrifier(R) Pro, the first
professional tool for creating fast-downloading web multimedia using an
amazing range of content--bitmap and vector animation, digitized audio,
synthesized music (MIDI), video, 3D, VR panoramas, No-Bandwidth(TM) media
like fire, clouds and ripples, and over 150 special effects such as emboss,
blur, and fade.

As web audiences demand increasingly exciting sites, web professionals must
find ways to attract and hold their attention. Until now, the creation of
rich multimedia content has been difficult, even when using multiple
applications. And the results have been either too simplistic, resulting in
a superficial viewing experience, or require too much bandwidth, causing
unbearably long delays.

* Most compelling web experience possible

For the first time, Electrifier Pro lets web professionals create
compelling web experiences never possible before. With its powerful
features, drag-and-drop authoring, and seamless integration with popular
tools such as Adobe Photoshop and PageMill, Electrifier Pro is a must-have
tool for every web professional. "Electrifier Pro finally gives web
professionals the freedom to create an outstanding web experience using any
type of content," said Mihail Lari, CEO, Electrifier, Inc.

Electrifier Pro content plays back consistently on both Netscape Navigator
and Microsoft Internet Explorer using QuickTime or animated GIFs, without
requiring a special server. The full power of Electrifier Pro's streaming
multimedia can be experienced at any connection speed--from 28.8K to cable
modems.

"Electrifier Pro delivers the significant new benefits of QuickTime 3,"
said Mitchell Weinstock, senior QuickTime product manager, Apple(R)
Computer, Inc. "Electrifier Pro and QuickTime 3 offer the ability to create
high quality dynamic media with special effects, streaming delivery,
intuitive authoring, and support for all QuickTime 3 media types. This is
an application web professionals have been waiting for."

"Electrifier Pro is way ahead of anything else I've seen. Multimedia on the
web is now a reality instead of just a buzzword," said Ros Garland, Senior
Lecturer Digital Media, Lincoln University. Added Rob Terrell, multimedia
designer at leading internet services company, iXL, "Electrifier Pro lets
me do things that were impossible before! It has a lot of power, and I'm
very impressed by how accessible it is."

Electrifier Pro was beta tested by web professionals affiliated with
companies and sites such as Douglas Adams' The Digital Village, NASA,
Reebok, Grolier Interactive, HBO, The Associated Press, Brigham Young
University, iXL, Academy Award winner David Kasper, and Peter Gabriel's
Real World Multimedia.

* Ultimate tool for fast web multimedia

Fast downloads are a necessity on the web, and Electrifier Pro maintains
superior quality while minimizing file sizes. Web professionals can create
compact animation using any content, even video, and utilize the most
advanced compression available such as Sorenson Video, Intel Indeo,
Qualcomm PureVoice and QDesign Music.

With Electrifier Pro's streamlined creation process, sophisticated
multimedia and stunning interactivity--such as highlighting and URL
hotspots--can be produced in seconds. Modifiable actions and effects,
accurate to 1/1000th of a second, can be applied to any element,
eliminating the need for tedious frame-by-frame construction.

And Electrifier Pro's seamless integration with existing content and
popular authoring tools--such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator,
Macromedia Freehand, Adobe PageMill, Microsoft FrontPage, NetObjects
Fusion, and Macromedia Dreamweaver--offers instant productivity.
Electrifier Pro multimedia can even be used on Intranets and CD-ROMs
without reauthoring.
