easy beat - Brand-new Music Authoring Program for the Macintosh.

Hagenberg, AUSTRIA, June-17-1999. UNI SOFTWARE PLUS is proud to
announce a new music authoring program for composing, scoring, and
playing songs. As its name suggests, easy beat is music for the Mac
as it should be: powerful, yet easy to use. Instead of the usual
tool-based user interface, easy beat uses a simple and intuitive
point-and-click technique. Adding, selecting, moving, copying notes -
all these operations are done with simple mouse gestures.

With easy beat, you can compose your songs by drawing notes or record
them with a MIDI instrument, see up to 16 tracks in multiple views,
choose from 128 instruments and 7 drum sets, print the score and
tabulature, add effects and variations, listen to your song using
QuickTime or an external synthesizer, and create MIDI files or
QuickTime movies for the web.

And all this is made available at the very reasonable price of only US$ 89.

"As a hobby musician, I have tried many music programs and found them
either too complicated or too expensive (or both). That's why I
finally decided to develop a new program that should be both
affordable and easy to use. Give easy beat a try and you will
certainly like it as much as I do," said Guenther Blaschek, the
author of easy beat and the well known control panel PopChar Pro.
easy beat features:
+ up to 16 tracks plus a metronome track
+ 128 instruments plus 7 drum kits, according to the General MIDI standard
+ multiple views (score, drum, keyboard, TAB, chords, controllers)
+ import and export of standard MIDI files
+ export of QuickTime movies and AIFF files
+ background music (play a song while you edit it or work with other programs)
+ single-track real-time recording (requires a MIDI adapter
and a MIDI instrument)
+ stylistic variations (shuffle, emphasis, arpeggio, delay, ...)
+ high-quality score printing
+ templates for frequently used note and controller fragments
+ built-in guitar tuner

All you need to work with easy beat is:
- A Macintosh with a 68020 processor and 90 MHz or a PowerPC,
- Mac OS 7.0 or newer (Mac OS 8.6 recommended),
- QuickTime 3 or newer.

No extra hardware is required to compose, play and print songs. If an
external synthesizer or a MIDI instrument is attached to your Mac,
easy beat can use them to play and record songs.
The easy beat package contains
+ The easy beat application
+ An 80+ pages tutorial with a lot of example files
+ An 70+ pages reference manual
+ An EasyNotes font for best printing results
+ A couple of additional example and template files

Availability and Pricing

The final version of easy beat 1.0 will be released in July 1999.
However, the final candidate is already available for download at:
http://www.unisoft.co.at/products/easybeat/download.html

The package contains the fully functional version of easy beat which
can be used to explore all of easy beat's features in demo mode. The
only limitation without a valid license key is that you will not be
able to save and print songs with more than 15 measures.

The price for a single licence of easy beat is US$ 89,- This price
does not include VAT (VAT is applicable to residents of the European
Union) and is for the "unboxed version". "Unboxed" means that you
download the easy beat package from our server and just need a
license key to install the full product.

If you cannot get easy beat via the Internet or other distribution
channels, a CD-ROM version can be shipped for an additional charge of
US$ 20.
