DROPCONVERT AUTOMATES TEXT FILE CONVERSION + WEB & EMAIL TASKS

Melbourne, Australia - April 12, 1999 Crystal Software
(http://www.ozemail.com.au/~launch) announces DropConvert 4.2, its
popular text editing, manipulating and filtering utility. DropConvert
replaces a substantial set of smaller utilities. General users, web
authors, administrators and programmers can readily perform complex
text-processing with a minimum of technical knowledge.

Ziff Davis rates it as a 5 Star Editors Pick - "Despite all these
bells and whistles, DropConvert is amazingly easy to use."

SAVE TIME. FIX MISTAKES. CONVERT FOREIGN FILES

DropConvert can help you save hours with its extensive range of 58
filters for adding, deleting, replacing, sorting and transforming
text. Common tasks like converting files between PC, Macintosh,
Mainframe and Unix formats are well catered for. With DropConvert's
command-line automation, mainframe reports can easily be converted to
PC format and copied to key users PCs overnight in a single step.

"Lehman Brothers, a New Jersey based consultancy, needed a source
code pre-processor before their Y2K analysis software would work.
DropConvert provided a cheap and tested alternative to developing
their own, with total automation as an added bonus." - Simon Carter.

Filters included can also split and join files, add line numbers,
word wrap, convert between OEM and ANSI and remove duplicate
lines/HTML/columns/binary characters/ANSI codes.

EMAIL AND WEB FEATURES

Web sites can be maintained easily with multi-file search and
replace, and the ability to add standard text (such as copyright
messages or banner advertising) to the start and end of each file.
Multiple spaces and blank lines can be quickly removed to improve
download times.

Everyone with email knows the frustration of receiving an attachment
you cant decode. DropConvert provides facilities to decode and
encode MIME, UU, XX or Hex encoded attachments - especially useful
for older email software without these facilities.

"We've focused very carefully on providing features that our users
have asked for," says Simon Carter, system architect of DropConvert.
"For example, a US political campaigner called at 2am. He urgently
needed to extract email addresses before an election in 24 hours
time. In 20 minutes we added a filter and sent it to him. He
purchased DropConvert online at 3am."

AVAILABILITY

DropConvert comes with a comprehensive user manual and a variety of
useful prebuilt filters. Crystal Software provides free technical
support via email. The Personal Edition can be purchased for only $20
from Crystal Software's web site, and a free 30 day trial version is
also available for download. Server, site and company editions are
also available.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

DropConvert requires Windows 95/98/NT. The download file is 329 KB.
Installation requires 1 MB disk space.
