PHOENIX. May 10, 1999. When Susan Ford of MacHome magazine needed a
quick way of polling her subscribers online, she turned to the latest
version of The Dragon from Waves in Motion.

"As a magazine publisher in the rapidly changing Macintosh consumer
market, it is extremely important that we know as much about our
audience as possible," says Susan. "With The Dragon, I am able to put
together surveys, publish them to our website, and start seeing
results in a matter of days."

The Dragon is a cross-platform FileMaker Pro solution that lets
anyone create, publish, and tabulate a sophisticated online survey to
gather immediate feedback on the issues facing them and their
organization. Online surveys can provide any business with a simple
barometer of their customers' concerns and opinions, and the
information they need to make their important decisions.

Arizona State University, for instance, continually conducts large
market studies to determine how they can best serve their students
and their community. "The Dragon has helped us reach market
populations internationally and locally that we were missing with our
traditional methods," says Randy Bailey, ASU's Extended Campus
Director of Communications & Marketing. "The Dragon requires a very
short learning curve and the cost to complete these online surveys is
typically less than 10% of what a comparable survey would have cost
using traditional methods."

Version 5.0 of The Dragon now allows for an unlimited number of
questions in a survey. In addition to the basic question formats
supported by earlier versions, The Dragon allows people to respond to
questions using a Likert scale. This, for example, allows you to put
forward certain opinions and poll whether people agree strongly,
agree somewhat, are undecided, disagree somewhat, or disagree
strongly.

The Dragon now works with either Lasso or the FileMaker Pro web
companion, and includes the ability to run internal surveys over your
local network or use the same, straightforward interface for the data
entry of printed or telephone surveys. The Dragon can even notify you
by e-mail as the responses start coming in.

Version 5.0 also comes with most everything you need to analyze your
results and publish your reports to the Internet, including improved
cross-tabulated analysis that can now compare two different data
searches side by side, and the ability to export you survey data to
StatView, the acclaimed cross-platform application from the SAS
Institute (http://www.statview.com) that packs data management,
statistical analyses, and presentation tools into a single intuitive
software package.

You can purchase The Dragon for $789.00 US online from the Waves In
Motion website:

Waves in Motion also offers a desktop version of the Dragon for
$379.00, a low-priced alternative for people who do not conduct
surveys over the Internet, but do need to enter the data obtained
through traditional written or verbal surveys.

Or you can take advantage of their Desktop Communications Bundle for
$899.00, which includes the online and desktop versions of The Dragon
and a copy of eMerge, the bulk e-mail merge application from Galleon
Software (http://www.galleon.com) and the simplest and fastest way of
distributing authentication passwords and following up with the
people who respond to your surveys.

Current customers should call Waves in Motion for the price of
upgrades from older versions of The Dragon.

For all their products, Waves In Motion offers a demo version you can
try before you make your purchase. The demo version of The Dragon
offers all the functionality of the full product except that it will
only run for one hour at a time.

Waves in Motion is the developer of several FileMaker Pro solutions,
including DocuScript, the Analyzer, and the oAzium family of
plug-ins. They are active members of the FileMaker Solution Alliance
and the Apple Developer Program, and have been consulting and
developing FileMaker solutions since 1990.
