[NPL] DNS Expert from Men&Mice

Men & Mice Ships DNS Expert, an Essential DNS Analysis Tool for IPSs and
Enterprises

Revolutionary Tool Brings Reliability and Ease-of-use to DNS Server
Administration

Reykjavik, Iceland August 24/-- Men & Mice today announced the immediate
availability of DNS Expert for Mac OS, a revolutionary DNS analysis and
problem-solving tool for Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and IT
professionals.

Facilitating the task of DNS administration, Men & Mice has utilized its
expert background in DNS software development and provided a diagnostic
utility that maximizes the reliability of DNS server administration while
minimizing administration time. DNS Expert offers fast and comprehensive
error tracking and provides easy-to-understand solutions to complex DNS
problems. DNS Expert analyzes DNS records on all DNS servers for Mac, Unix,
Windows, or any other operating system.

Says Cricket Liu, co-author of the O'Reilly & Associates book "DNS & BIND"
after beta testing DNS Expert: "Congratulations on putting together a great
product! I won't hesitate to recommend this to my customers."

DNS Expert, an essential tool for ISPs and enterprises, is available for
Mac OS, Windows 95/98/NT for $295 from Men & Mice. A Lite version of DNS
Expert, suitable for small Mac OS businesses, is also available for $99.
Registered users of QuickDNS Pro can order DNS Expert or DNS Expert Lite at
special pricing from Men & Mice. Demo versions of DNS Expert and DNS Expert
Lite can be downloaded at http://www.menandmice.com

Ultimate DNS reliability through comprehensive error tracking

ISPs can now enjoy ultimate reliability and ease of use during the DNS
administration process, whether in getting a health check on their DNS
setup or responding to immediate network problems. DNS Expert can
systematically error-check and validate any part of the DNS setup. DNS
Expert also provides an easy path to quick DNS problem identification by
locating problems and providing easy-to-understand solutions to even the
most complex DNS problems.

"I have used DNS Expert to analyze all of the zones which we host," says
Jim Evans at InterNet Access Network, an Ohio Dayton Area ISP. "DNS Expert
has very quickly and efficiently given me the information I need to clean
up my zone files. I am very impressed and I feel that anyone that must deal
with DNS should have a copy of this utility ."

The analysis performed by DNS Expert includes checking the availability of
backup mail- and DNS service for domains, the general domain sanity, and
the connection to parent domains. Says Sigurdur Ragnarsson, DNS Expert
product manager: "DNS Expert performs over 50 different checks, practically
all the tests that can be made to a DNS server. These tests surpass any
tests done on DNS servers today."

Essential diagnostic companion for both new and experienced administrators

Manual DNS error tracking and validation of DNS records is often very time
consuming, even for the most experienced administrator. Errors in DNS
records are easily overlooked and checks can be left out in the course of
the validation process. A survey recently conducted on approximately 1200
Internet domains revealed that over 60% had erroneous setup. With DNS
Expert, new and experienced administrators are provided with the means of
easily and systematically checking every aspect of DNS, ensuring a correct
setup while minimizing the administration effort.
