Team ASA Releases MacServerIP for DEC Alpha

San Diego, CA -- Team ASA Inc., manufacturer of high-performance
networking products for professional PrePress and Multimedia users,
announces immediate availability of Cyan Software's MacServerIP for
DEC Alpha to the prepress and digital media markets. The Intel
version of MacServerIP was introduced to the U.S. market on April 1.

MacServerIP is the first AppleShare type server for Windows-NT to
support the Apple File Protocol over TCP/IP. MacServerIP is 2 to 4
times faster than Windows-NT Services For Macintosh (SFM).
MacServerIP users access the NT server via the standard AppleShare IP
interface.

The MacServerIP product represents a significant advance in
AppleShare-type (AFP) file servers for the Windows NT platform,
offering a number of features not found in other products, including
support for AFP-over-IP, excellent support of CD-ROMs and removable
media, supports CD-ROM changes (SFM does not), sharing of non-NTFS
volumes, and remote administration. "This is a win win situation for
Windows and Macintosh integration in a seamless fashion", said Mark
Murray, President of Team ASA. "Some customers are reporting 15
megabytes per second file transfers using MacServerIP", said Murray.

While offering better performance and more flexibility than Windows
NT's Services for Macintosh, MacServerIP is tightly integrated with
NT's security environment, allowing administrators to establish and
maintain a single database of users, groups, and access privileges,
unlike other third-party products which require maintenance of a
separate database of AFP users.

Use of the same file format as NT's MacFile Service also allows for
easy migration from NT's Services for Macintosh to MacServerIP;
existing MacFile server volumes can be shared immediately by
MacServerIP, with no reconfiguration necessary. In fact, MacServerIP
can run simultaneously with NT's MacFile Service.

Team ASA begans shipping MacServer IP for DEC Alpha on May 1st, 1999.
Pricing for the DEC Aplha version for MacServerIP is as follows: 10
user is $695.00, 20 user $1,195.00, 40 user $1,795.00, 100 user
$2,754, Unlimited user $4,175.00.

communications solutions for Pre-Press and Multi-Media professionals.
Team ASA's products increase the productivity of professional users
working with large files in networked environments. Team ASA solves

adapters for both Windows-NT and Power Macintosh computers. Team
ASA's PDQ file transfer utility maximizes the speed of file transfers
between Macintosh and Windows NT environments for those requiring
optimal speeds.
