Coyote Point Systems and Bright Tiger Technologies Integrate Products
for Best-of-(Hy)-Breed Web Site Traffic Management and Monitoring

--New Open Standard Protocols for Cluster Component Interoperability
Developed; Coyote Point's Adaptive Load Balancer, the Equalizer, to
Work in Tandem with Bright Tiger's ClusterCATS Web Site Resource
Management Software--

Sunnyvale, CA (January 4, 1999) -- In a partnership that signals a
new phase in web site management technology, Coyote Point Systems,
Inc., producers of highly efficient and cost-effective load balancing
hardware, and Bright Tiger Technologies, a leading provider of web
site resource management software, today announced the integration of
their products to deliver the highest levels of Internet traffic
management and monitoring.

The partnership, the most recent in a series of alliances undertaken
by Bright Tiger, joins ClusterCATS' application-specific server
monitoring and content replication capabilities to the adaptive load
balancing capabilities of Coyote Point's Equalizer. The combined
solution allows for faster connection times and a more fine-grained
monitoring of server performance than current stand-alone hardware or
software products allow. By jointly developing new open standard
protocols for cluster component interoperability, the two companies
have demonstrated their commitment to the future of server
performance and reliability.

"As business-critical Web applications grow ever more complex and
varied, traffic management and monitoring solutions must evolve
rapidly to keep pace," said Howard Schneider, Vice President of
Customer Operations at Bright Tiger. "ClusterCATS, working together
with the Equalizer, will enable our customers to load-balance at peak
efficiency across the full range of Web site applications."

"This alliance ushers in the next generation of load balancing
intelligence," said Marc Roth, Coyote Point's Director of Business
Development. "The two products working in tandem will give site
managers a new level of control over server performance and the
highest degree of scalability, allowing them to keep overhead low
while providing customers with faultless, fast access to all
applications. It would be hard to imagine a more perfect union of
software and hardware."

Coyote Point Systems is a leading provider of server management
devices for enabling scalable, highly-available server clusters.
Recognized for price/performance and intuitive configuration, Coyote
Point's Equalizer ensures fail-safe 24x7 access to web sites and
other critical Internet and intranet applications. Equalizer
adaptively routes incoming traffic among a pool of servers, producing
enhanced site performance and worry free availability. Coyote Point
solutions support all Internet protocols and accommodate all
operating systems.

Bright Tiger ClusterCATS is a family of site resource management
software for building and managing fast, reliable web sites. The
software manages many types of web site resources from multiple
vendors for peak availability and performance. It intelligently and
transparently detects and shields users from busy and failed web
servers, applications and databases, as well as slow networks and
missing files.

When used together, ClusterCATS will monitor critical web site
resources (e.g. application, database, server process, file, and URL)
and communicate failure or overload problems to the Equalizer. The
Equalizer, in turn, will transparently direct traffic away from
trouble spots, provide transparent fail-over for uninterrupted
service, and display real-time graphical reports of server
performance. ClusterCATS also automates content replication among
servers, making it easy to distribute the full range of applications
across the server pool.

The combined capabilities of the two products will enable organizations to:

o Provide graceful fail-over for applications maintaining state by
instructing users to restart at a specific page, eliminating
confusing and hostile error messages.

o Place content selectively on servers based upon user demand and
available server resources, eliminating the need for mirrored servers.

o Manage content distribution and synchronization, ensuring
redundancy and integrity.

o Direct users to the closest location based upon network trip time
in a multi-location environment, reducing user response time.

o Easily manage the web site centrally, reducing operation costs.

Pricing and Availability

Bright Tiger's ClusterCATS software, optimized for use with Coyote
Point's E150, E250 and E350 Equalizers, is available immediately.
Prices for ClusterCATS start at $5,000 for two servers. Prices for
Coyote Point's Equalizer start at $3,995.
