[NPL] Amplify.net's iSurfRanger: End-to-end Bandwidth Management

AMPLIFY.NET BEGINS SHIPMENT OF ITS PREMIER iSurfRanger SOLUTION

End-to-End IP Bandwidth Service Management Becomes Reality

FREMONT, Calif., January 26, 1999 - Amplify.net
(http://www.amplifynet.com), a Silicon Valley start-up, today
announced that it has started shipment of its flagship product
iSurfRanger.' iSurfRanger is the first of amplify.net's end-to-end IP
bandwidth service management solutions. It was tested at five
customer sites: Solectek Corporation, Telia Globalcast
Internetworking, Go International, Wireless One and Third Rail.

The iSurfRanger is the industry's first end-to-end IP bandwidth
service management solution that functions as a bandwidth 'valve,'
meter, data warehouse and usage accountant by integrating 'front end'
bandwidth service
provisioning and metering seamlessly with critical 'back office'
customer billing and usage accounting functions. It enables a service
provider to define and dynamically throttle the bandwidth 'valve'
based on customer service level agreements (SLA) stored at a
bandwidth data warehouse, and to
retrieve usage information for billing, trends analysis and capacity planning.

Solectek Corporation, a San Diego wireless LAN/WAN equipment
manufacturer with a full line of cost effective wireless LAN/WAN
interconnectivity bridges and routers, is planning to recommend the
iSurfRanger to their customers who require bandwidth management.

"With the limited and precious bandwidth in a wireless network,
bandwidth management is particularly crucial. We have many ISPs and
other customers who need to precisely allocate, manage and track
bandwidth to their clients. We have tested the iSurfRanger with a
variety of applications, including Voice Over IP, Internet access and
other IP applications. The iSurfRanger performed extremely well in
all situations, and is a perfect complement to our long range
wireless products" said Joel Kmetz, director of product management at
Solectek Corporation. "iSurfRanger's complete end-to-end IP bandwidth
management solution provides Solectek's customers the ability to
offer different bandwidth and service levels of wireless IP service
by splitting and metering bandwidth at their subscribed levels. With
Solectek's MP Series of wireless bridges and routers plus
Amplify.Net's iSurfRanger, our customers now have a complete solution
for managing and tracking bandwidth."

Telia GlobalCast Internetworking, a Swedish wireless ISP that offers
wireless Internet connections and various IP services to end users
and corporate customers, is another amplify.net beta customer
planning to include the iSurfRanger as part of its service offerings.

"Corporate IT mangers want to divide the bandwidth of their internal
networks for different departments. Currently, our wireless equipment
runs at 2 Mbps and, to meet their requirements, we need a solution to
control the bandwidth for connections with speeds under 2 Mbps," said
Jens A. Vegeby, operational manager at Telia GlobalCast. "After
testing iSurfRanger, we are very happy with its functionality and
performance. It is the first such solution that we have seen that
offers such a broad range
of bandwidth service provisioning parameters. We can easily configure
and enforce different bandwidth policies. The back office
capabilities are particularly useful in giving us the actual
bandwidth consumption information so that we can bill our customers
for the bandwidth they actually used."

Go International, Inc., an Internet service provider in Coral
Springs, Florida, plans to deploy the iSurfRanger as a complete
bandwidth service provisioning tool.

"Generating different class-of-service offerings while delivering committed
bandwidth levels to our customers is our greatest challenge," said
Anthony Bertran, director of sales and marketing at Go International.
"With amplify.net's iSurfRanger, not only do we have a powerful tool
to manage the entire bandwidth provisioning process, but we can also
improve the quality of service to our customers and enhance our
competitive posture while boosting our bottom line. Equally important
to us is the amount of experienced technical support we receive from
amplify.net."

"Amplify.net is committed to providing the best technology and
solutions with the highest quality to our customers," said Pauline Lo
Alker, president and chief executive officer of amplify.net. "We are
very happy to see the results of our successful beta test program.
The iSurfRanger is
ready for prime time and the market is ready for it."

The iSurfRanger is priced from $9,995 to $23,000 depending on the
chosen configuration and is available immediately. Send inquiries to:
