[NPL] Aestiva HTML/OS 1.6

Aestiva Press Release. January 26, 1999

For Immediate Release

Web designers gain new on-the-fly capabilities with the release of
Aestiva HTML/OS 1.6

Torrance, Calif. (January 26, 1999)-- Aestiva, LLC announces the
immediate availability of Aestiva HTML/OS 1.6, the latest version of
the company's flagship product.

Aestiva HTML/OS is powerful Web site software for HTML-proficient Web
designers who want to develop advanced, dynamic sites. The latest
version delivers improved mail, internetworking and database
capabilities.

Aestiva HTML/OS is a compliment to HTML. It allows one to merge HTML
documents with information stored on the server on-the-fly, i.e. in
the instant documents are requested by users of a Web site. Aestiva
calls HTML/OS "The King of On-the-fly" because HTML/OS, while easy to
use, is a highly efficient scripting language which can perform
on-the-fly word-processing, spreadsheet, database and programming
operations.

Professional strength that doesn't cramp your style

With HTML/OS installed in your Web site, tags can be placed in
documents to perform a wide range of tasks. And you're still free to
use your favorite HTML editor. Most importantly, HTML/OS eliminates
the need for CGI programming with Perl, a process long viewed by
Webmasters as overly complex and limited.

HTML/OS tags are placed in HTML documents in much the same way
Javascript scripts are placed within documents. This makes it easier
to use and deploy than languages like Perl. Plus, HTML/OS is faster
and it's used in high-access Web sites where Perl scripts are too
slow. The latest version of HTML/OS further expands its lead over
Perl and similar CGI techniques. HTML/OS is well-suited for
developing all kinds of dynamic Web sites, including large sites and
database-driven sites.

Used at Virtual Hosting Providers

HTML/OS' ability to operate at virtual servers continues to
differentiate it from its competitors. Its built-in database sets it
apart from conventional database integration products which require
the purchase of and integration with 3rd party database products.
Installation of HTML/OS in a Web site requires no special
configuration by the hosting provider. In addition, installation is
included at no extra charge with purchase.

Aestiva HTML/OS is accepted at 95% of the nation's hosting providers.
The largest hosting providers, including Netcom, Primehost (AOL),
Verio, Mindspring and Best, accept HTML/OS.

New Features

Aestiva HTML/OS 1.6 is a major upgrade to version 1.5. Like all
HTML/OS upgrades, the version is downward compatible and operates the
same across server platforms. New features include:

- Improved performance
- Expanded mail functions
- New Point-and-click Control Panel
- New Point-and-click Database Configurator
- New AOL auto-detection/configuration
- Compatibility with all popular HTML Editors

Aestiva HTML/OS 1.6 is available for Sun (Sparc), Sun (Intel),
SGI-IRIX, BSDI, FreeBSD, DEC Unix, Linux and Windows 95/98/NT
platforms. Aestiva HTML/OS 1.6 retails for $799.00 (US). Upgrades are
$150.00 (US).
