7100/8100 PowerMac Video Adapter Kit

This update will provide information on the Video Adapter Kits for the
Power Mac 7100 /8100 solution.

7100 ADAPTER KIT - SOLUTION

To review the status of the 7100 adapter kit solution, we are pleased to
announce that our engineers have solved the technical incompatibilities
with the 7100. The new adapter kit will incorporate special circuitry that
solves all of the timing problems that existed with some 7100
configurations. This new adapter kit has been well tested and is now in
production. We expect our resellers to have quantities available on
September 14. This new adapter kit will only work with the PowerMac 7100,
and will have a suggested retail price of $99.95.

8100 VIDEO ADAPTER KIT - STATUS

The 8100 Video Adapter Kit allows existing PDS video card (Apple HPV or AV
card) to connect through Sonnets Crescendo G3 Processor Upgrade Card. This
pass-through device is necessary to allow continued use of the video card
because the G3 upgrade for NuBus computers must be installed in the PDS
slot, where the original video card currently resides. The adapter kit
connects the video card to the to the processor upgrade card and holds the
video card firmly in place over the middle NuBus slot.

The complex engineering of the 8100 Video Adapter Kit is now complete and
has been fully tested. We are now moving the kits into production and the
product will ship in November. As a reminder, customer also have the option
of purchasing the Sonnet Accelerated NuBus Video Card for $199.95. The
Sonata card supports millions of colors, up to 1152 x 870. This accelerated
video card is an excellent option for those who want maximum video
performance at a low price without waiting for the Video Adapter Kit.
Customers who have a Power Mac 8100 and already own one of the Crescendo G3
Processor Upgrade Cards have the following options:

1) Customers can wait until November for the 8100 Video Adapter Kit

advantage of a special discount offer on a NuBus video card. They must be
prepared to provide the Crescendo G3 serial number, and if the Crescendo
