NodeSaVR 1.0: Delivering Multinode QTVR to the Web

NEW QTVR TOOL MAKES DELIVERY OF CONTENT TO WEB FAST AND EASY

March 01, 2000, Squamish, BC, Canada - Squamish Media Group, Inc., today
officially announced the release of NodeSaVR 1.0, a tool designed to vastly
reduce the time and effort involved in delivering multinode QTVR movies to
the web. NodeSaVR joins SoundSaVR, MapSaVR and RevolVR as part of Squamish
Media Group's growing product line of tools created to enhance the
functionality and value of Apple's popular QuickTime VR technology.

NodeSaVR quickly separates all nodes in a multinode, saves each node as a
single node movie and converts all link hotspots into URL hotspots, while
automatically generating HTML files from custom or default templates in a
wide variety of page layout styles and configurations. Separating the nodes
improves Internet delivery of multinode QTVR movies by not requiring those
viewing the content to download all the nodes as one large file, and
allowing them to selectively choose which node(s) they want to view.

"Until now, content creators have been reluctant to use multinode QTVR
movies on the web because of the larger file sizes and bandwidth issues
involved" says Doug DeRusha, CEO. "Splitting these multinode movies into
URL linked single nodes is a time consuming and difficult task that has
kept many content creators from making this immersive rich media available
on the Internet."

NodeSaVR can also automatically insert information relating to each node
directly into the corresponding HTML page, as well as generating HTML files
for each hotspot in every node and preserving the hotspot link views from
the original multinode. By default, URL information is stored in each
single nodes' hotspot info, but optionally the link info can be stored in
the HTML files as Embed HotSpot tags. A URL hotspot can also use an
absolute path so that the default web browser will launch when a user
clicks on a hotspot in a movie that has been downloaded to their hard drive.

"There are some very complicated tasks happening in the background in
NodeSaVR, but we've managed to keep this activity transparent to the user"
says David Solomon, SMG's Creative Director. "I'm very excited about this
release because this is the first product to utilize our new software
architecture which eliminates the requirement for equal numbers of tiles
for every node. Now we can re-focus on our 2.0 versions."

NodeSaVR 1.0 supports SoundSaVR, MapSaVR, and RevolVR tracks, and files are
exported in the QuickTime movie file format so no other special plug-ins
are required for cross platform playback. NodeSaVR is available immediately
through the Squamish Media Group web site - http://www.smgVR.com - at an
introductory price of $99 (USD).
