NEW WEB CROSSING 5.0 INTRODUCES THEMES AND PLUG-IN ARCHITECTURE

-- Integrated Online Collaboration Tools Now With Themes for Easy
Customization,
and Plugins for Extensibility Without Programming --

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., March 24, 2003 -- Web Crossing, Inc. today shipped
Web Crossing version 5.0, with a new customization and extensibility
architecture replete with appearance themes, page component options,
plugins and much more. Web Crossing v5.0 is designed for easy administrator
control of the appearance and functionality of its collaboration tools,
including a breakthrough new WebFiles system for mirroring files from a
browser. Several free plugins, themes and customization modules have also
been made available for the first time today. Available immediately as a
software license or server hosted solution, Web Crossing is priced on a
traffic-based sliding scale model from (http://www.webcrossing.com/).

"Web Crossing's tightly-integrated broad-spectrum core functionality can be
easily customized and expanded in minutes," explained Tim Lundeen,
president and CEO of Web Crossing, Inc. "Our new plug-in architecture adds
new Web applications, themes, and page components with no programming
required. Themes make customizing the whole site or particular sections
easy. Our new WebFile system can mirror files, or even let users create
home page directories, directly from their browser."

"We are very pleased with the new features that Web Crossing 5.0 adds to an
already very feature rich product," said Chris Zumbrunn of DeployZone.com.
"It opens up exciting new possibilities for third party developers
allowing, for example, our DeployZone Object Engine to leverage the new XML
and plug-in capabilities for a simple and fast way to build powerful web
applications. With version 5.0, Web Crossing has matured from a leading
collaboration tool to an industry leading server platform for any kind of
Internet application."

Easily Add Functionality and Breakthrough WebFiles The new Plug-in
architecture in Web Crossing v5.0 makes it easy for administrators to add
and update software modules in just a few clicks. Plug-ins are now
downloaded by simply clicking on the "shop for plug-ins" link from within
the Control Panel. Plug-ins are available for a extensive array of
functionality, such as Weblogs, RSS feeds, personal and shared calendars,
WebMail, visitor comments, polling, brainstorming, rating auctions, wiki
web and more. Other plugins are available that let administrators provide
extra functionality to their end-users.

Web Crossing v5.0 now includes a new WebFiles mirroring system -- a
breakthrough paradigm for conveniently managing server files by mirroring
the file system directly from a Web browser. When used with Web Crossing's
new built-in Web publishing feature, users can create and edit entire home
page directories via most modern browsers. All files that are added or
modified via WebFiles or FTP are automatically synchronized in real-time
with the host file system. WebFiles gives Web Crossing developers added
flexiblity and adminstrators a simple method for maintaining large sets of
files.

Easy Customization in Whole or in Part
Now for the first time, Web Crossing administrators can customize all or
part of a site with new themes and layouts using the "one-click
customization" manager. Previously requiring customized templates,
aesthetic control can now be achieved with a simple point-and-click. A
site's look can be easily customized across the entire site or within an
individual section, such as a single discussion area or distinct HTML
directory. Overall appearance themes now include a new default "tabs" theme
with editable dynamic tabs, cartoon colors and pinstripes themes, and an
empty theme, for an easily customized look in a single click. Standard page
component options provide choices for folder views, message views and
toolbars.

Dozens of other more minor features, enhancements and bug fixes have also
been included in Web Crossing v5.0 as outlined at:

Pricing and Availability
Web Crossing v5.0 upgrades are available today on a traffic-based sliding
scale starting at $119. Purchases of Web Crossing since January 1, 2003 are
entitled to Web Crossing v5.0 upgrades for free. Several plug-ins are
available at no charge. Those plug-ins that aren't free are affordably
priced or available as part of a turnkey solution package.

Web Crossing v5.0 is available immediately as a sliding-scale traffic-based
software license starting at $295, or server hosted (ASP) for maximum
uptime starting at $65/month. Professional services, community hosting and
community management consulting are available for all Web Crossing
