New EonStor iSCSI-to-SATA Raid System

Cost-effective 16-bay RAID Storage Maximizes Ethernet Network Investments

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Oct. 3, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Answering the need
for high performance data storage for mature TCP/IP networks, RAID
storage expert Infortrend today unveiled a new 16-bay iSCSI-to-SATA
external RAID subsystem, the latest addition to their broad line of
EonStor RAID storage products. The EonStor A16E-G2130 delivers
storage flexibility, ease of management, and configuration
simplicity, while ensuring maximum security and protection for
business-critical data. The ES A16E array is ideal for building a
shared storage pool for disk-to-disk volume distribution, data
backup, storage consolidation, and replication among networked
servers.

The EonStor A16E-G2130 successfully merges Infortrend's sophisticated
RAID technologies with iSCSI flexibility. Power and speed are
guaranteed with Infortrend's latest ASIC400, a 933MHz PowerPC GL CPU,
and four Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) ports, while built-in RAID6 and
EonPath multi-pathing software protect the data stored on the ES
A16E. The iSCSI protocol provides lower training and maintenance
costs, but without the complexity and high component costs of
dedicated storage networking technologies. This combination results
in a cost-effective storage solution that seamlessly integrates into
existing Ethernet networks, giving IT managers lower cost, high
performance storage that is easy to implement and protects their
network investment.

"Infortrend designs RAID storage products that offer an attractive
mix of performance, flexibility, and capacity to the market," said
Tony Chu, president of Infortrend Corporation. "The new EonStor A16E
subsystem gives small- and medium-sized businesses a combination of
data protection and ease-of-maintenance along with iSCSI connectivity
that reduces the total cost-of-ownership of a typical SAN."

EonStor A16E-G2130-4 Feature Highlights

-- Four 1GbE host ports increase available bandwidth

-- Meets IETF iSCSI open standards to ensure compatibility
with other iSCSI devices

-- Jumbo frame support enhances sequential read/write
performance

-- Built-in RAID6 for extreme fault tolerance-handles two
simultaneous drive failures without downtime or data loss

-- Mutual CHAP support for internet authentication security

-- Access control by IQN (iSCSI Qualified Name) or over IP

-- Load balancing and failover with EonPath multi-pathing
software maintains data availability

-- Embedded RAIDWatch management tools

-- Easy maintenance with hot-swappable field-replaceable
units (FRUs)

EonStor A16E-G2130-4 Availability

First customer shipments of the EonStor A16E-G2130-4 RAID subsystem
began in the Asia Pacific region in mid-September. General
availability is expected in October 2006 through Infortrend's
worldwide network of OEMs, distributors, and storage integrators.
