MP3.com Workshop: Developers Get Free Marketing & Sales Support

Developers to Receive Free Marketing and Sales Support at MP3.com Workshop

SAN DIEGO, March 12, 2001 (PRIMEZONE) -- A few weeks after releasing the
free Music IOS Application Programming Interface (API) to the developer
community, MP3.com, Inc. (Nasdaq:MPPP) today announced a developers
workshop designed to provide marketing support to hardware, software and
web developers interested in potential revenue-generating opportunities.
The free workshop is scheduled to take place at MP3.com headquarters in San
Diego on Thursday, March 15, 2001. To sign up for the workshop today, visit
www.mp3.com/events.

The event will include presentations on how developers can leverage free
marketing support from MP3.com to meet distribution and sales objectives
for their products. Developers can access a variety of free, web-based
marketing opportunities designed to connect their product to MP3.com's vast
customer base of millions of music and technology enthusiasts. Among the
tools scheduled to be discussed by MP3.com's team of marketing experts are
targeted newsletters, online advertising, logos, press releases and more.

The workshop also will offer a technical overview of the Music IOS API by
the same engineers who built the program. Along with a number of free
tools, the Music IOS API is offered through the MP3 Developer's Network
(MP3DN) at developer.mp3.com. The Music IOS API offers streamlined access
to digital music content, with highly customizable functionality suited for
the next generation of portable handheld devices, Internet appliances,
software applications and web sites. To see screen shots of applications
created using the free Music IOS API, visit www.mp3.com/mapi.

"I strongly encourage hardware, software and web site developers to attend
this workshop because it's a great opportunity to benefit from the free
marketing and promotional tools offered through our developers network,"
said Michael Robertson, chairman and chief executive officer of MP3.com.
"We are excited to work closely with the technologists who are working to
develop the next generation of music-enabled devices and applications."
