MGI 1.6d RELEASED: INCLUDES FULL SUPPORT FOR ACCESSPOINT, 8-BIT SUPPORT FOR

the release of MGI 1.6d, its plug-in to 4D's award-winning web server for
the Macintosh, WebSTAR. This release represents several major milestones in
the development of MGI over the past four years.

MGI 1.6d includes full and seamless support for the Accesspoint system of
credit card verification and real-time credit card processing. PagePlanet
Software, Inc. is proud to be associated with Accesspoint, a
California-based corporation founded in 1995. Using the custom-constructed,
Accesspoint-enabled tags of the MGI shopping basket suite, a web designer
can now integrate a web site from product selection to credit card
transaction deposit using a single piece of software designed specifically
for that purpose.

In addition, Accesspoint is capable of providing merchant services for
on-line businesses that are otherwise unable to obtain such services
through their local bank while also keeping the total cost of the entire
system comparable to those costs one would expect from a bank. MGI clients
can also use Accesspoint to accept check payments on-line just as they
would credit card transactions.

Accesspoint, we hope to bring equitable and fair access to credit card and
check processing so that small businesses can afford to get on the web with
fully-enabled, e-commerce sites. We recognized that too many companies who
attempt to act as credit card processors not only impose significant

set-up expenses, excessive monthly charges, and exhorbatant
percentage-of-sale fees; Accesspoint eliminates all those barriers," said

In addition, PagePlanet Software, Inc. is in final development to provide
credit card processing services to clients in Australia via the eSec
Limited system. The technical details will be finalized early next week and
the product add-on to MGI made available for immediate use. The eSec system
will allow for seamless integration of commerce-enabled shopping baskets
for businesses located in Australia, enabling them to transact real-time
credit card processing with local Australian banks in Australian currency.

The current MGI release also includes full support for quoted printable and
encoded word (8-bit) formats in the mgiPOP tag, a means by which hosting
services or individual businesses can provide their users with web-based
email. "mgiPOP, whether in client mode or window mode, can now be used
effectively by our European clients in their native languages," said Steve
Crisp, general manager for PagePlanet Software, Inc. "This advance opens up
the world of web-based email to many potential clients who had no such
option unless they were willing to communicate in English."

MGI 1.6d will also be the last release of MGI in the 1.X series.
Development of MGI 2.0 is progressing on schedule and is slated for release
in the fourth quarter of 2000. MGI 2.0 will include major advances in all
processes including database integration, ODBC capability, and will run on
both the Macintosh and NT platforms without any code adaptation whatsoever
on the part of the web designer. PagePlanet Software, Inc. is also firmly
committed to porting MGI 2.0 to run under Mac OS X upon its release as a
commercial product as well as adaptation to run under WebStar 5.0 upon its
release.
