Metrowerks Offers Suite of Software Analysis Tools

Metrowerks Offers First Comprehensive Suite of Software Analysis Tools for
Mac OS X Developers

CodeTEST for Mac OS X Designed to Allow Code Visibility, Application
Analysis Throughout the Development Process
Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2003 - San Francisco, Calif. - June
23, 2003 - Mac OS X software developers may soon reduce development costs
and improve application quality with Metrowerks CodeTEST Software Analysis
Tools for Mac OS X, Version 4.0.1 - the only comprehensive suite of C/C++
software analysis tools available for the Mac OS X platform.

The CodeTEST suite is engineered to offer code visibility and precise
application analysis, allowing users to conduct performance measurement and
verification during the development process. It offers accurate, detailed
measurement information of desktop applications based on the Mac OS,
including comprehensive code coverage, performance profiling, memory
analysis and software trace.

"Improving the efficiency and depth of our testing for complex products
such as Office for Mac is a constant focus for us," said Geoff Price, group
development manager, Microsoft Macintosh Business Unit. "The full-featured
code coverage reporting provided by the CodeTEST suite promises to help us
improve the efficiency and depth of our test coverage."

The CodeTEST suite is engineered to seamlessly integrate with the
Metrowerks CodeWarrior development environment and helps Macintosh
developers view the actual execution history of their applications at the
source, helping to eliminate the need to stop the system before the
analysis is performed, or to provide analysis only on statistical sampling.
Performance and memory analysis features help users to track timing and
dynamic memory allocations with detailed reports to help pinpoint errors,
and include trace capabilities to help users locate, view and analyze
problem areas quickly and easily.

"Since its inception, Metrowerks has provided comprehensive developer tools
for the Macintosh developer community, and this tradition continues today
with the introduction of CodeTEST Software Analysis Tools for Mac OS X,
Version 4.0.1," said Jim Welch, president and CEO, Metrowerks. "This new
CodeTEST product demonstrates our understanding of the Macintosh community
because it gives developers what they've been asking for: visibility into
performance and execution of applications that helps speed code execution
and improve overall code quality."

Developers in avionics, networking/communications, and automotive
industries have successfully used CodeTEST Software Analysis Tools to
handle software measurement and verification duties. This newest release
of CodeTEST Software Analysis Tools for Mac OS X, Version 4.0.1, further
extends these capabilities for the desktop industry and is compatible with
C and C++ languages.

Availability and Pricing
CodeTEST Software Analysis Tools for Mac OS X, Version 4.0.1, is expected
to be available by July 2003*. Suggested retail price for this product is
$3,000 (USD) per license, which includes the first year of maintenance and
support and may be ordered direct from Metrowerks by telephone at
