Meltdown RocketFire: 3 New FireWire/USB Upgrades

MELTDOWN SYSTEMS ANNOUNCES THREE NEW FIREWIRE PRODUCTS

LENEXA, KANSAS -- February 18, 2000 -- Meltdown Systems, in partnership
with MacWorks, today announced the addition of three new FireWire products
to the RocketFire line: the RocketFire PC Card, the RocketFire FireWire/USB
PCI Card, and the RocketFire FireWire PCI Card.

FireWire (or IEEE1394) is a special interface for connecting high speed
computer peripherals like digital cameras and camcorders, audio recorders
and storage devices. In addition, Firewire is capable of configuring itself
so peripherals can be plugged in without the need for powering down and
rebooting each time.

The RocketFire FireWire/USB PCI Card provides both high speed FireWire and
USB ports on a single PCI card. The RocketFire FireWire/USB PCI Card
includes four ports -- two FireWire and two USB -- and is compatible with
either Macintosh or Windows/PC desktop machines that have one available PCI
slot. All four ports support cable power and can be used simultaneously for
greater flexibility and peripheral management.

The RocketFire FireWire PCI Card is an inexpensive two-port FireWire
solution for either Macintosh or Windows/PC desktop machines that have one
available PCI slot. The card's two ports support cable power to provide
power to FireWire peripherals.

"We see a legacy issue with the older installed base of PCI desktop systems
in the market, be it Macintosh or PC," said Jim Harris, MacWorks CEO.
"These users want to add the latest technologies to their systems, without
paying the premium of giving up two precious PCI slots. We are excited to
offer a single card solution that provides both FireWire and USB
technologies to this group of savvy users."

The RocketFire FireWire PC Cardbus Card is a Type II PC Card with one
FireWire port. The card is designed for the mobile user who needs to add
FireWire capabilities to a Macintosh PowerBook or Windows/PC laptop
computer.

The RocketFire FireWire/USB PCI Card, FireWire PC Cardbus Card, and
FireWire PCI Card will all be available in late February 2000. All three
products, plus the RocketFire 6-Port FireWire Hub, are OHCI-compliant and
support both Macintosh and Windows/PC computers. All RocketFire products
carry a one year warranty. Interested parties can visit MacWorks website at
