ZipCenter.
About ZipCenter

ZipCenter is a 4th Dimension plug-in that provides useful ZIP Code
functionality such as ZIP Code lookups, and distance calculations. The
package includes quick start sample code, and an accurate database of over
42,000 ZIP Codes for every location in the US complete with related
location data.
ZipCenter can save you time and money by increasing data entry speed and
accuracy. This is an incredible productivity tool for anyone who has to
enter address data into a 4D application. ZipCenter dramatically reduces
the number of data entry errors that occur when entering addresses into 4D.
People naturally think of the world geographically, with ZipCenter you can
present your existing data in a new straightforward manner. Latitude and
longitude information allows you to find records based on nearness to a
central point. Using a database of suppliers an optimized proximity 4D
search could find the two nearest suppliers that stock the part you need.
Or a customer database could yield customers within 150 miles of a
particular city for a targeted mailing.
ZipCenter includes 5-digit ZIP Code data stored in a specially formatted
external file. This external file is optimized for quick and efficient ZIP
Code lookups, and adds no data to your data file. The standard package
includes ZIP Code, preferred city name, state, latitude and longitude. The
enhanced package adds secondary cities, area code, county name, county FIPS
code, state FIPS code, city sequence number, MSA Code, Time Zone and
Daylight Savings Time. Each package also includes the data in a convenient
text format for import. The text file includes the date a ZIP Code was last
updated so that you can program your system to import data selectively.
Since ZIP Code data changes frequently, a convenient subscription option
allows you to keep your data current.
