Metrowerks Visual SourceSafe for Macintosh Release 6 Available for Software
Developers

AUSTIN, Texas -- August 3, 1998 -- Metrowerks Inc. (NASDAQ:MTWKF,
TSE/ME:MWK) is now shipping Metrowerks Visual SourceSafe for Macintosh
Release 6, the latest version of its cross-platform revision control
system. Several new features have been added to advance its capabilities
and speed programmers efforts to bring new products to market.

Metrowerks Visual SourceSafe for Macintosh Release 6 fully supports the
latest IDE 3.0. Among the new features are: support for exclusive checkout,
which allows a programmer to override the multiple checkout setting on a
folder; the ability to add multiple files and folders via the Add Files
menu item; support for non-automatic commenting; capability to display the
share / branch information from the properties; and live History now allows
doing Checkout, Comment, Difference, Get, Label, Pin, Rollback, and View on
versions.

Metrowerks Visual SourceSafe for Macintosh Release 6 is now shipping,
priced at US$499 and available from Metrowerks and Metrowerks authorized
resellers. Academic pricing is US$119. All purchases include free technical
