Paradigma Software Releases Valentina for Macromedia Director

MAC AND WINDOWS V4MD ADDED TO PARADIGMA SOFTWARE VALENTINA DEVELOPER PLATFORM

December 14, 1999. Beaverton, Oregon. Paradigma Software announced today
the Valentina Developer Platform line of products, including Valentina for
Macromedia Director 1.7 , the newest addition to the product line.

Valentina for Macromedia Director, available for Macintosh and Windows
platforms, allows multimedia developers to add the ultra-fast Valentina
database as a back-end solution to multimedia projects by Macromedia
Director. Valentina for Macromedia Director bristles with features not
available before now in the creation of database enabled client projects:

Storage of large amounts of Director and graphics data. V4MD can get and
set Macromedia Director member media in Valentina BLOBs with up to 2GB of
data per file;

Multi-version support for Director. Powerful picture storage options allow
V4MD to work with Macromedia Director versions 5, 6, 7, or greater;

Professional strength relational databases. V4MD features SQL queries,
Regex search, related tables, cursors, and full text indexing.

Purchasers who buy the Macintosh and Windows versions together also receive
a copy of Valentina 1.7, a compact Applescript controlled database
server-application for MacOS for fast visual creation of object-relational
databases.

Paradigma Software's Valentina 'object-relational' engine, the core of the
Valentina Developer Platform, provides designers and application developers
with powerful database solutions on multiple platforms. The Valentina
database kernel indexes and searches databases over hundreds of times
faster than most database solutions available for desktop deployment.
Benchmarks comparing Valentina to mySQL, Acius' 4D, Filemaker's FileMaker
Pro and other databases are available on the Paradigma web site.

Valentina for Macromedia Director also introduces the Valentina Developer
Platform, allowing transparent sharing of database files between all
members of the Valentina line of products, including: Valentina 1.7;
Valentina for REALbasic, a collection of add-on classes for REAL Software's
REALbasic rapid application development environment; Valentina C++ SDK for
Macintosh and Windows platforms; the forthcoming Valentina for WebSiphon, a
server based product for building data-driven web applications.

Valentina for Macromedia Director is available for purchase through the
Paradigma Software web site at an introductory price of $150 per platform,
or $249 for both, until December 31, 1999. The regular price is $199 per
platform or $299 for both.. A competitive upgrade for V12 users is also
available at $99 per platform, or $149 for both. The products are available
for immediate download from Paradigma Software or its authorized
distributors in Germany and Italy.
