Tools Plus Pro 5 Makes Mac Programming Fast and Easy

OAKVILLE, ONTARIO--June 14, 1999--Water's Edge Software has announced
immediate availability of Tools Plus Pro 5, the award-winning
libraries and framework for Macintosh developers. The new release is
updated for Mac OS 8.6 and includes new Apple Event and Help Manager
support.

Tools Plus Pro, the premium Macintosh rapid-development tool for
novice to expert level developers, is now updated to take advantage
of Apple Computer, Inc.'s latest operating system, Mac OS 8.6. New
additions include extended support for "themes," and automatic
response to a user's real-time changes to theme and appearance
settings.

For the first time, Tools Plus includes built-in Apple Event support
which early reviewers have called "brilliantly simple." Out of the
box, Tools Plus libraries include default behaviors for all core
Apple Events. The implementation lets a developer integrate Apple
Event support into his application with less than a dozen lines of
code. The default behaviors are easily overridden just by installing
a standard Apple Event handler routine that is written by the
developer.

Also included in this new release is Help Manager automation (Phase
1), and a new user manual in PDF (Adobe Acrobat) format. A full,
printed user manual that is rated as "the industry's finest" by
users, is still included with the Software Development Kit.

As in all previous versions, Tools Plus Pro 5 features rapid
prototyping and development for applications and plug-ins, as well as
enhanced functionality that is not available in ordinary Mac OS APIs.
Software products created with Tools Plus have a compact disk and
memory footprint, and they run faster than most hand-tuned code.
Perhaps best of all, Tools Plus dramatically reduces development
time, effort, and code complexity.

Tools Plus libraries + framework support the industry's most popular
programming languages and compilers: C, C++ and Pascal on Metrowerks'
CodeWarrior, Symantec's C++, THINK C/C++, and THINK Pascal. Both
680x0 and PowerPC-native libraries are included, supporting all
versions of Mac OS since System 6. Tools Plus Pro is bundled with
several megabytes of custom controls (SuperCDEFs), custom windows
(WDEFs), icons, animated color cursors, fonts, and other valuable
